Work Chris! That looks great. I enjoyed the write up alot especially "Thats a huge overbore!" you say, "Where am I going to get a head gasket that big?" You stupid frack! Just look on the internet. Cometic makes an 87mm head gasket for a 4G63 engine."

Is it running currently? If so, give us some details!

wow! good job man! drool Thanks for all the info!

I just have a few question,
1. is the stock crank that you used from the Hyundai block forged?

2.about when you clearanced the main bearing cap bridges... is there enough clearance between the bridges and the oil pan to maybe weld on a peice of steel on the outside of the bridge to strengthen it? (Im paranoid)

3. Lastly, If you dont mind me asking, how much did the parts (pistons, gaskets, bolts.. etc) run you?

This looks like a very interesting way to spend my money naughty

Well a big thanks right back at ya slick, I wouldn't have done my new setup if it wasn't for your mysterious email smile ...although I should probably be taking you to court instead of thanking you, as you made me spend an insane amount of money wink

Good writeup. You beat me by about a week or two smile

I prefer to use nutella as assembly lube, leaves less film.

In the engines Ive built in my time (stroker and non) whether or not the crank was forged was valid, as it would ultimately decide how much power Im going to attempt throwing at it, the RPM Ill rev till, and whether Ill run N2O. Cast cranks have been known to actually "twist" a few degrees at higher strains, reducing power, and increasing risk of engin failure.

And I suggested welding support on the bridges, not the caps. But I did have to machine and add support on the caps of a 493 stroked olds 455 (using buick rods and an offset ground crank) for extra support a few years back, as the increased stroke wouldve put large strain at RPM's over 3000. I was just wondering if its possible to strengthen the bottom end of.

And I more wanted to know the cost of the pistons.

Look buddy, if you didnt want to answer, you couldve been diplomatic and written "no comment" instead of trying to be funny (and failing)

Listen Shamir.....

2 of your questions could have easily been answered with a simple search.

As for welding on the bridges, I have seen what welding does to metal. I would stay away from welding anywhere near the mains.....but suit yourself.....

If you want to do this mod, and are worried about that cap bridge, get the 4GCS block. It has stronger caps, and no bridges.

Back at you, buddy. bird
