I recently blew the engine in my Laser, anyways I am getting another n/t engine until I finish the turbo motor. My question is will a 91-94 n/t engine hook up to 90 chassis and wiring no problem? I know it will fit and everything, but are there any differences in any of the conections whether it be sensors or fuel lines or P/S.

I am already running a 91-94 ecu and a 91-94 tranny, so I know that will work with it.

thanks for your help!

Throttle body,
the evaporative system hosing system the way they are run
and also cruise/throttle cable system

are different.

but I am sure you can get them off your old intake. The physics of the engine is the same as far as I know.

Things I swapped when I threw a 90 engine into my 92 Eclipse NT:
Power Transistor
Coil Pack
CAS
Throttle Body
The water neck (Which has vacuum lines, etc... going to it) - put the water neck from the 92 engine onto the 90 engine
Fuel Rail/Injectors (The 92 throttle body (I think the brace part?) didn't fit quite right, so I had to swap the 92 fuel rails/injectors onto the 90 engine)

I might be missing something, it was summer time I did this.... But I definetely know there was nothing major...

Trevor, I thought the coil pack were the same in both NT and Tsi?

The problem is the electrical connectors are different from 90 to 91-94. But the engine block and intake are the same.
All you have to do is swap the parts from the old engine to the new engine.(just like Trevor said)

And John,
the coil packs from Turdo and Non-Turbos 91-94 are all the same. Just 90's have different connectors and are not interchangeable with later year's models.
Hope this makes sense. cool

The 90's are all the same, just not interchanageble as Tony mentioned.
