well if you got the money your better off with getting the header. youll get some better performance, it will look good, and it will last much longer then a weld.
althought if you dont, welding the exhaust mani will hold up for at least a few months with normal use.

I put the Pace Setters on two years ago.
You'll need to do a little work to them like cleaning the inside of the Runners and repaint them before you slap them on. You won't get tons of power out of them. They will hurt bottom end power and you'll get a bit on the Top end. That is all. http://www.lks.net/~ghislisa/Headers.htm
