well I should prblably ask first how old are you & she are, (some upscale restaurants are of an older crowd & you may not like that) but also are you looking only in the Markham area?
I know of alot of very nice retaurants mid-town & downtown toronto.

The best thing may be to cook it for her yourself if you have the skills.

I'm 27. She's 21.
It will probably be a group thing.
I'm trying to keep the list small.. but its at about 25ppl right now.
Any good ideas? Casual dinning... relaxing atmosphere.

I work at The Keg and it seems like it is the atmosphere that you are looking for. Might be a bit pricey for 25 ppl though, but really great food. I don't know where there are any in your area (I'm in Alberta) but check out:

There is a place on Yonge, north of Sheppard on the west side, can't miss it. It's called Moxy's, I might have gotten the spelling a bit off. It's a trendy place, with great food.
In Markham, there is an all you can eat Japaneese restaurant called Wasabi. It's awsome, not like other all you can eat places. You actually have to order food.

Vote #2, Mcdonalds and go-karting.

Seriously, try to find somewhere where theres an activity to go along with dinner. The other day i took my girlfriend to a nice resteraunt in barrie and then walked nextdoor to the retro arcade and played Pinball and Dance Dance revoloution for like an hour.

Bare in mind my girlfriend and I are both 18 and DDR might not be appropriate, but you get the point. Find a dancefloor or somting, she'll think thats special.

The Corner House Restaurant is my personal favourite, excellent fine dining. Its on Davenport near Casa Loma.

Anyone looking for a nice meal, in a romantic setting, give this one a try, its sure not to disapoint!

There is Wildfire Grill (casual), North 44 is excellent, closer to St Clair is Didier, or right downtown is Bymark, or Avalon which is also nice.

Just went to The Old York Bar and Grill last night, got the idea from watching it on the Restaurant Makeover show, great food at reasonable prices...

Hey Mike, in the summer I'm there almost every Sunday. It is amazing how little a place can change even with a "Make Over".

It's a great place for beers with friends but with the limited menu not really some place just to go for dinner.

Mysteriously Your's was great, I didn't find Medival Times to exciting though...

Sam & Pete's (when I work) does private parties all the time.
Call Deborah (Marketing Manager) tell her you know me and she will cut you a good deal.

I guess the thing that most people like about it is the food (obviously), if anyone likes steaks check out the USDA Prime striploin, $$$ but amazing!
We have our regular dining room, a smoking area, 3 patios (if this weather keeps up smile ), as well as an upscale lounge on the first floor, and a large nightclub on the second.
To be honest its pretty nice.
Perfect for your age group.
Total capacity over 1200, good times for sure.

Thanks for the tonne of info guys.
We ended up at Centro's, but I probably will end up at some of the suggested places because they sound so good.

Centro's is a bit on the pricey side, but it was excellent. We had our own private room with plasma t.v., own steoro system, and washroom. Places for 20ppl.
I had Ontario farmed Ostrich.... yah I know what your thinking, but whether or not I get sick this week,... it was some damn good meat. I'm now a ostrich eater for life.

I give the place a 9/10.
