Stock 1Gb (1Ga are even worst) headlamps are pretty badly designed. I had 3 galants and those headlights are examples of the best lights you can have on a DSM.
As for a 1Gb, invest in some good bulbs like Silverstars and polish/clean your headlight lenses as mentioned already. I saw a significant improvement in lighting performance just by cleaning them. (mine arn't even that bad before i cleaned them, they were a little hazy but not yellow like most of them - now they are almost like new - maybe brighter by about 20% if not more)
Maybe also try the grounding wire mod.

No worries Malcolm, we're all here to share info! I will definitely try the Meguiar's polish. Sounds like good stuff. I guess I wanted something that looked as good as the 2g black projectors...

I guess if you got real creative you could make your own projector headlamp setup. To get the full effect you would need to have a clear and smooth outer lens and maybe like a black or carbon fibre housing so they look good. Perhaps it would be possible to make a mould of the 1gb headlight lens and get it poured from some lexan or something, probably costly but shouldn't if you can make a mould yourself or have someone that you know make one. I'm not even sure you would use lexan for this just sounded smart lol.

I like Nick Boer’s setup. By using the pre-existing headlight housing so that no bodywork is required and retro fitting the bulb bay with HID's, which require some work, you can get the ultimate in lighting. Going as far as looking good instead of having good lighting, that's a different story. I had the same question that had been in a few previous posts. Get in contact with Mr. Boer and I'm sure he will help you out.
