I put a 97 Talon front bumper, and a 95 eclipse rear on my car this weekend. Every bolt i took off broke. everything that could have gone wrong did.

What a pain in my... It was probably worth it though.

This thread is useless without pics.

Uhhh... a torch and heat the bolts up and they come out like butter.

Torches also take off the surrounding plastic like butter too.
The car is getting repainted...

LOL - yeah. I broke all mine when I first took off the bumper to put on an FMIC. Zip ties and new SS hardware. Zip ties are great. Nothing wrong with using plastic to hold together two pieces of plastic.

Screw zip ties. I drilled out the old bolts and cleaned up the threads. Every DSMer has a bucket of DSM bolts, so i used those.

Um PB Blaster works wonders on rusty bolts, since I have been using it I have not broken any of the rusty bolts the hold on the plastics. Looks good, lets see a wider rear end shot. When is it getting painted?

I love zip ties, they're what have been holding my splash shields on for my motor for the last month.. and have worked wonders.

I mean after you break the bolts, use the torch to take the remainder out of the rebar with some nice vise grips. Then again, your 2G bumper is made of mush unlike the 1G metal one.

it was mostly the bolts in the rear bumper. Only one didn't break. Just ONE!!!

I picked up some night shades for the tails so they wont look so ricey.

They look good lit up. I had to do some rewiring. I guess the eclipse tails have different sockets.

I think I'm gonna put another coat on mine this weekend sometime, and some clear. Too red for my liking. Might have to get another can though, where did you get yours?

Hey Mike, judging by the black band around the bottom of the rear window, this used to be a '95/'96 hatch that now has the toenail spoiler removed. Is that right?

My car is the same way right now. Have you given any thought to trying to remove some of that for better rear visibility, or adding a 3rd brake light?
