I was coming down Walkers Line after taking Dundas from Mississauga because of work...

I was really stressed so I wasn't too easy on the car though ... frown

Anywho, waiting at a light, a hotshot 17/18 year old drives up beside me at the lights for north service rd heading south... he is one of those kids that knows standard and finds it quote unquote COOL to play with the clutch/gas... and noting the title, hes driving a deep purple Pontiac Sunflower (Sunfire naughty )

Soooo annoying... Light goes green, I take off like I normally do... easily and without much thrust...

He decides to try and take off like a speeding bullet... peels and wheelhops like no ones business and only gains like 1/2 a car length... at which time u can tell he was at WOT and trying to just go

Im just like w/e, im doing about 10km/hour... i feel like getting up to the limit a little quicker cool

I giv'r a bit of gas and in turn, got him to bend over, grab his ankles...
by the limit i was only a couple of car lengths on him at which time he got on the highway...

So.... i felt better about myself... being able to destroy a sunfire; boost leak, shitty exhuast and all smile

Hey man, it's all good. I destroyed one legally at the track last year with the following:

FRONT wheel drive
Blown Turbo (14b burning oil like crazy)
Stock everything with a swiss cheese SMIC

Sunfire's are funny. However be careful. You know you can beat them and it's not worth the racing on the streets with everything going on.

All in all, way to stick it to him. Bet he was all smiles for the first few seconds until he saw your ass end... then... frown

I have one, yes they are slow, but some owners don't realize that.

Such a bully, picking that defenseless vehicle.
I usually refer to them as Stunfires.

So true, I see at least 50 sunfires everyday around here with huge fart cannons on them peeling everywhere thinking there some sort of sports car, it just pisses me off, some of them are so cocky they will race anything. A guy tried to race me in a Aerostar minivan, sad part is i almost beat him.

Shitfires and Crapaliers

I know a guy who has lettering on the top off his windshield that says Shitfire on his Sunfire. At least he's got a sense of humour.

On a side note:
Please don't encourage these kids in crappy cars to race. Whenever I start to play with these shitboxes they always do a ricer flyby or start driving like a madman to show off long after I have gottten bored with them. These are the people that are getting in careless accidents all the time. I know its tempting to put these idiots in their place, but sometimes its not worth the risk. Just my two cents.

Dude, I wasn't racing haha
I was strictly giving it a bit more throttle than I normally do.

I am firmly against a fullout streetrace and stupid stuff like that, but I am not against bringing my car above 3000rpms once in a while

Heh, if you check the archives you might find a post of a conversation I had with the owner of a local speed shop...

"Some kid asked me to put a straight-back exhaust on his Cavalier automatic. No cat. No muffler. I told him he'd LOSE power, but he said he didn't care. He just wanted it as loud as possible to sound like a 'race car'."

Er...Yeah...

True, when it comes to racing on the streets, besides being completely pointless, I dont usually go past 2nd gear, there is just to much to risk. If they pass me then, good for them, they can be proud in there little "shitfires" haha.

Hey Jeremy, I thought you were talking about Oshawa for a moment. But then you only said "50" sunfires.
Come to the 'shwa and see how the modern man can Frankenstein a Cav or Sunfire! I even see this one modded Cav/Sunfire that looks very much like a 96 Talon (I hope that it's not a 96 Talon modded to look like a Cav...).
