I found this on MCCC. I found it interesting and thought you guys might want to see it, since the topic of street racing is hot. Its about the ad that Mitsu has showing their new Lancer driving around the highway on/off ramps.

From what I heard on the radio, Mitsubishi was the only manufacture to even respond to the the media. They said they wouldn't pull their commercial, as it depicted fast driving, but on a closed course, not street racing.
I think they are right. Almost all car adds depict racing in some fashion.

Ya, when I'm driving around...commercial ads come to mind all the time...and therefore I have to speed.
I do 50km/h through the school zone near my house (40 when flashing) and every morning I get passed by mini vans and suv's with their children in the back...Guess they have the Lancer in mind and think that's what they are driving

I can't count how many times I've been raced by soccer moms and lamers in other vehicles. I don't bite, but being in the sports car automatically makes me part of the problem.
Tsk Tsk...

They are so right! Ban the commercials! And all TV shows and movies and video games that promote fast driving! Right away! Before someone gets the idea into their head to do it themselves!

It's so easy to drift on dirt.

Mitsu is trying to appeal to a younger demographic with the car and that type of ad will get their attention.
Remember that first Mitsu ad in canada with that trippy song(days go by)?

Anyways,this is not first time an ad was used that promoted some sort of underground culture.

If it aint GM, they hate it.

I'm glad the whiners didn't get their way this time as they usually do.

Give it twenty years and we'll all be forced to wear padded body suits because the whiners found it 'unsafe' to walk around exposed. We might trip, or bump into someone else....It could be disastrous!!!
