I doubt this will happen, once a location is picked everyone living near it will complain about the noise that it'll bring. Unless its in some deserted area that hasnt been discovered yet in toronto i dont see this happening. Maybe up north a bit, but thats it.

Downsview airport would be a sweet spot. But like Dave said, everyone who lives in the area will complain about noise.

It doesn't even have to be that close. Right now the closest track on either side of Toronto is like 2 hours right? They should set one up near Mosport or something. Its about 30 minutes outside of the city and its in the middle of nowhere...

I think I'm a little confused. I'm going to need someone to explain a few things to me. As far as I know, all the tracks in Ontario are privately owned, no? Assuming that's the case, what would the government (whatever level) have to do with "getting" a new track. I realize that any potential track builder would effectively have to get "permission" (presumably from a Municipal government) to build and operate a track, but aside from that, what the hell would the government have to do with "getting" a track? Unless, of course, the implication is that the government is somehow preventing a track from being built and operated. Is this the case? If so, someone's going to have to provide me with details, otherwise this whole friggin' thing is pure conjecture.

They could own and operate one, they own and operate camp grounds, tourist attractions, the roads we drive on daily.. they basically own us all through taxes, thats another story though, Why not make a track for everyone to go wild on, if not kill street racing, it will dramatically reduce it. People at my highschool used to plan street races, they would now be planned for the local track ( just a bad example.. )

This is a petition to help bring a track to toronto. Before I consider signing anything, I'm going to need the following question answered to my satisfaction: What is preventing a track from coming to Toronto? Are there armed guards at the entrance to the city with instructions to turn away any that attempt to enter? If so, who gave those orders? Toronto also doesn't have an NFL team, nor does it have surfing. Whom should we petition about those things?
