Well someone gave me some aluminum valve caps once, so I put them on and didn't think much of it. Now that we're hafway through winter, I noticed one of the tires seemed low, so I went to pump it up and sure enough all 4 caps are seized on. The valve stem just rotates with the cap. How am I supposed to get em off??

You can try holding the stem and undoing the cap.

You will then have to get your valves fixed.

Maybe try putting some heat on them. Aside from heat to maybe expand the aluminum caps abit to allow it to losen off. Other then that I wouldnt know what to say and summer is awhile away. Something like a light should work. Careful valve stem may get chaud.

The... VALVE STEM is rubber. Take a lighter/torch to rubber.

If you are careful, you could take a hair dryer to it and see what happens, or even a lighter.

Yeah the vavle stem is...Im saying apply a little heat to the valve cap that has probably shrunk from the cold. Not saying torch the rubber off. Thanks though.

dont torch it, the rubber is delicate in the stem...

This is what you do..

Two pairs of plyers...

Grip one pair on the stem (try not to use a sharp pair, just something that ill give you a strong grip), and use the other pair to turn the cap.

It should let go. Thats pretty much the only way to do it.

If you heat than you risk the change of burning your wheels.

Give it a shot. rotate

Hell, if you torch them, video tape it. That sh!t would be hilarious. Not so much when your tire catches, then your car.... but you know.....

Errrr. Follow Rods advise.

Alright guys that was a total bitch. For everyone who reads this, NEVER USE ALUMINUM VALVE CAPS! My dad the genious helped me out. We drilled a hole in the top of the cap, filled it with release oil, held a huge soldering gun to the cap till the oil started boiling and then held the stem with some skinny pliers (which was hard as hell since I have OEM 2G rims which don't leave much room at all for the stem) and eased off the cap with some vice grips. It took 2-3 shots of this for each cap. Back to plastic for me..
