He kept those wheels from his old '95 ESi. I think they look great on his 2G. Looked good on my 1G too when he let me borrow them

She's got the following treats on her birthday this month.
-New OEM starter,
-Clean Throtle body with new shaft seals and gaskets (zero leaks now)
-Stock oil pressure gauge fixed (used Ryans parts car to transfer parts)

Picked up brand new CF tech hood and hatch locally for a good price. Weave is perfect, not supposed to fade either. Hopefully this stuff takes kindly to the sun. Just have the hood on at the moment. Needs a little adjustment and shimming still. Plan on replacing the front bumper and rad support next and then I ll probably install a set of hood pins. WOOT for tax returns

My tax return was $57 No DSM parts for me! Coincidentally, it cost me $57 that day for gas in my Lancer Ralliart!

Very nice hood, but why the hood pins? Looks much better as is IMO, but what do I know! My car is partially pink...

^^ Sometimes with the CF, the hood latch isn't as strong as it should be, and any wind under the hood could cause the latch to break, causing disaster. At least that's what I'm told.

Someone on the board had their CF hood fly up and smash their windshield. I remember reading (or seeing a picture?). Better to be safe than sorry! I have hoodpins on mine.

I know 2 guys who have had their CF hoods fly open and smash the windshield. Get hood pins. A CF hood wants to fly like a kite at high speeds.

On the bright side, a CF hood still looks more intact than an OEM hood after smashing the windshield.

Lol yes Bashar it will be when I put the new one on. I didnt think you were still interested in it? If so shoot a PM. I m trusting the hood for a month or so and no more though. One hood into the window was enought for me (although due to my own stupidity, it had pins). IMO id rather pins than risk in excess of 1000 damages. Im lucky I wasnt going all that fast and only wasted a 400 dollar hood. Window and roof no signs of damage, took it like a champ!

Fair enough, I could deal with hood pins if it keeps the hood in place!

I belong to that club. In my case, the skin actually separated from the skeleton and WOOOOP! Off she went. A set of pins woulda saved that from happening.
