When fully warmed up, my idle would drop to 500 or less.
In searching this site on how to adjust the idle,
I found that you have to ground some pins in connectors
to keep the ECU from interfering with the adjustment.
I wanted to avoid messing with connectors and pins, so I
tried another approach. I turned the base idle screw
1 revolution counter clockwise with the car not running,
figuring the ECU is not paying attention when the car is off.
Now the idle drops to 750 and the car runs great.
Although it seemed to have worked for me, I wonder if this
is a legitimate way to adjust the idle for those of us who
would rather not ground connectors ?

That's the only other way, other than running something like DSMLink and adjusting the idle through the ECU
