2 weeks away from our 3rd annual DSM Day. Each year this event is getting bigger and better. Hope to see some of you out. Have a look at the classes because we have made some changes from last year. If anyone has any questions about the event, post them up in this thread and i'll be glad to respond.

ForcePower DSM Day
Date: Saturday September 27th
Where: Sparta (St.Thomas Dragway)
-gates open at 10:00am
-qualifing begins around noon

RULES & CLASSES for ForcePower / DSM day.

STOCK APPEARING (SA) - 15.99 qualifier
Heads up class - pro tree
-any year DSM running a TD05H appearing turbo. FMIC's are ok, intake and exhaust manifolds must be stock, full exhaust, no hacked bumper covers or any other exterior panels, full interior from front seats forward, no nitrous.
*Rule change for this year.....external wastegates are allowed in this class.
Tires: FWD = any DOT
AWD = any DOT radial

SUPER STREET (SS) - 13.99 qualifier
Heads up class - pro tree
-no restriction on turbo size. Full exhaust, no hacked bumper covers or any
other exterior body panels, full interior from front seats forward, no
nitrous.
Tires: FWD = any
AWD = any DOT
*this class will have a breakout time of 11.49. If a (SS) car runs 11.49 or
quicker in a qualifying round, that car will be moved up to the (PS) class. If a
(SS) car runs 11.49 or quicker in an elimination round, that car will be
disqualified. This breakout time is to split the (SS) and (PS) classes and to
make for closer competition.

PRO STREET (PS) - 12.99 qualifier
Heads up class - pro tree
-this class is for the more heavily modified Super Street DSMs. This class will
also follow the exact same rules as the Super Street class.

BRACKET (B)
This is a handicapped start class.
-This class is for any DSM or other Mitsubishi powered vehicle.

** Trophies will be awarded for 1st & 2nd places in each class.

I agree. Unfortunately I'll have to miss this years. Prior arrangements conflicted with this.

That's too bad Tim. I was looking forward to our rematch. Maybe we'll meet at a T&T sometime before seasons end and have a couple heads up runs together. We'll be running the BlackBird until they close the tracks for the year.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it either to defend my title. Good luck to everyone who's running.

SS class?
I thought you'd be more of a Pro Street guy Eric.

I'm guessing the 12.99 qualifier can be a long shot laugh

Well I guess you do get bumped up if you go fast enough wink

Well I figure it`s a more competitive class. I mean, i dont plan on going 10s that day, since it`ll be my first time out this year. Reza, get the grocery getter in the pro street class!

Pat, do you have anyone in the "pro" class with you yet?

Eric, I hope you can make it man. I believe you would be a favorite in the SS class if you did.
As for who's in the PS class.....not sure obviously. Not sure until the day of the event and the DSMs all roll in on who's all coming out. I know there's a possibility that the PS class could be slim-pickings based on a count off the top of my head on sub 11.5 DSMs in this area but who knows. That's the reason that we've got the event posted on everything from DSMtuners, MIDSM to here and more. We're trying to attract DSMs from all over. Im keeping my fingers crossed that there is some good competition for me in the PS class.
I know there are more than enough DSMs out there period to make this event HUGE. Whether they show up or not is another story.

I plan on going and I should be in the 14s this year. Last year I was launching when I saw the green light... That coupled with a 2.0+ 60ft made for a pretty weak 15.20.

Pics from last year!!!!

Ya but it sure counts in heads up when you're trying to beat the guy next to you.
The event should be all wrapped up between 4:00 and 5:00. Then they take an hour break and run just T&T till 10:00 or so. Those that race during the day can also stay and run T&T all night with no extra charge.

Nope! I went to Cayuga instead. It was a nice day, with few cars so you could get in as many passes as you liked BUT track prep/traction wasn't the greatest. Helder said he was going to St Thomas tho, but I haven't heard back from him.

The only reason it was a flop was because everyone holds a grudge. You guys hold them and force power holds them. And until both sides decide to drop it, there will never be any big south Ontario DSM drag day. Period.

It`s very disappointing to see a local DSM Shootout Held and 3 people from here show up! I dont care what grudges anybody holds, its a dsm event! go out, have fun, kick ass, prove yourself. Talk is cheap! Afterall, it`s not like Forcepower is making any money off this event! They`ve made more of a contribution to the dsm to the community than the majority.

I ended up going, being the first time out this year, I was more than happy to do just test and tune. Couldn`t get much in traction department, with only high 1.9 60 foots all day netting me low 12`s @ 120mph all day.

Tim, I agree with you 100%. If some one is going to take the time to put on a event for EVERYONE. Why not take part?

There has been a lot of bashing on both sides. People hold grudges. Some times not for the right reasons (on both parts).

At the end of the day. This was an event put on by local DSMER'S for DSMER'S. That should have been the end of it. Just look at the shoot out this year. How many evo's and how many DSM's?If some one is going to take the time to organize an event for those of us who drive and enjoy DSM's. wouldn't it make sense to support it? It should not matter that dsm Canada puts on an event and has a low turn out. or if S.O.Dsm does the same. We should all be ashamed. After all we all drive and enjoy the same cars, do we not? we should be supporting each other, and the community as a whole.
