After a long nightmare with my 92 talon that never ended, I decided to move away from them...for a while at lest.
And this is what I just picked not too long ago.
01 A6 2.7T 5sp auto(sadly)S-line, Originally an American car ~125k Km

After a good waxing:

Just did a full maintenance, new brakes/rotors, front control arms, and of course ball joints.

Car Rides beautifully, and I'm not the "luxury" type so it still feels wired driving this, specially after having not power steering in my last talon.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Sweet! The upscale 'luxo' stuff grows on you after awhile. Especially if you're over the age of 27. wink

Hmm, I think Club DSM Canada is turning into Club VW/Audi. wink

Another 2.7 TT! Nice ride, love it.

A6 was just way too big for me. You'll find that after owning the car for awhile, you'll never go back to the 'boy racer' type again. Or maybe it's the fact that I'll be 29 in less than a week.

Where did you get your rotors/pads? That's what I'll be doing next spring.

If this was a VW club we'd tell him to install air bags and slam it, make the hood rust, and throw on a roof rack with some vintage luggage. rotate

Sweet car though Bashar, looks awesome! Which one are you going to drive in the winter? The Mitsu or the Audi? smile

It's been about 3 weeks now, and I've only out on about 800km on it .
I'm only 21, and a very big part of me still wants that "throw you in the back of your seat feeling"

Grant:
Some stuff I got from pfafftuning, many parts my local mechanic was able to order for me, and I have to say it wasn't cheap.
Only complain is, I got cheap pads, and they already squeal really loud, changed the rear ones, just haven't had time to get on the front ones.

After reading that your s4 felt completely different, I'm looking forward for a chip+triptronic chip that speeds up the shifts.
Just don't know if the turbos will hold up. I heard they sometimes need to be changed after as little as 70k kms.

Should of said pfaffaudi...

ya, you gotta chip it twice.

I swear, there's absolutely nothing you can do to your car that you'll enjoy more than chipping it.

I made my receptionist scream in the passenger seat yesterday just accelerating in normal traffic when the turbos fully spooled.

She goes, "Oh my god, is that your chip?" hahahha

Nice car! If those are Fuzion tires, don't even think of running them in the winter.

Quattro is for winter, and the car did come with stock 16" rims with Pirelli winter tires, so it's good to go for the snow.

As for the 3kGT, its my neighbor's and good friend, and sadly he won't drive it throw winter, lots of work to be done on that car by summer.

Grant, may I ask where you picked up your chip form, for $500 you nearly paid half prise for it!!!

Is it an actual chip or a reflash?

I know someone who can do reflashes.

I got extremely lucky as I got a full replacement ECU with the GIAC X chip installed for $500. Normally the chip is $795 and the ECU is about $500 from the dealer. I found the ad on Kijiji.

Now if you tell me that's YOUR house, and not your parent's, I'll hate you... Forever. wink

If you take care of the turbos, they'll usually take care of you. But the K-series do seem to be a bit weaker than most.

Jeff, you got that right. The one 'odd' thing I've noticed about the VW crowd is their tendancy towards 'stretched' tires.

Hey now,
That's a dangerous line of reasoning there young man.....;)

I was impressed with our little Jetta TDI when we had it.....it felt like a solid little car.
Now that we have the A3, I have to say that the Audi feels like more than just a spruced up VW.
In actuality, it might only be an overpriced GTI, but the fit and finish just feels better.

I was always worried when I read about (post purchase, of course) VW's quality issues, and so that never sat well with me.
One of the first things I checked when I looked at the A3 was where it was built.
Does this amount to anything quantifiable? I dunno.....but it makes me feel a little more at ease.
Plus, it's a lease.......so if it does end up turning into a lemon, I'll just give it back and start again with a new one, because up to this point, it's been a great little car.

In fact, I absconded with it today so I am gonna go take a spin.
(tee hee)

Since Audi toke over lambo, they've come a long way. I was never a fan of Lamborghini, but you got to admit they are one of the greatest, and most exciting car makers.

The interior of lambos looks like the newer A8/A6, and they got the same navi system I got in mine, which the previous owner had bought from Europe. Makes it very unique, because it wasn't even offered as an option back when it was made.

As for the car it self, I love it, and love how it "insulates" you from the rest of the world, and it's got such a presence on the road I feel (can't wait for the tints, debadge, clear headlights, and smoked taillights). God knows how an A8 would feel, or the S8 with lambos V10!!!

Got around to installing the new ECU, DVs, and also replaced some hoses that were old and leaking a little.

I have put in a little over 100L of 94 in the past few days, and averaged 12.7mpg...and literately went no where, just driving around locally.

That's how much fun it is.

Takes no effort at all now to get up to any speed even on the high way it pulls just as hard.

I'm itching for k04s now.

Some time this week, I will be taking my car in to do some exhaust work on it.

Originally I wanted to swap out the cats, and replace them with straight pipes, and remove the resonator and throw a straight pipe there too, keeping the stock mufflers.

The shop also suggested that I go "true" dual exhaust and just do straight pipe from the flex pipe all the way to the mufflers.

anywhere from 2.25" to 3" diameter.

What do you guys think, is it worth it to run 2 straight pipes all the way through?

Still oblique on the K04s, might come back to DSMs, and let go of the A6.

But the big plane if I keep it is defiantly yes, K04 will go in.

3" dps too?

On a V6 a dual exhaust is allowed. On 4cyls I find them just silly. When you think that it's only going to be 3cyls each on a turbo 'as small as' a K04, you shouldn't need piping any larger than 2.5". I'd probably go 2.25" myself.

DSMs have run into the 11s with a 16g and 2.25" exhaust...

Exactly my thoughts, 3" would just be useless
