I heard that Dom Price was recently banned now too. I've known him for a few years since being a member here, I actually sold my first item on the board to him. I've always thought of him as a good kid, and a good member of our community. I know he's helped me a few times in the past, which I am greatful for. I'm sure I don't have the full story of why he was banned, but he just doesn't come across as a guy to scam/rip people off. Can any of the mods fill me in?

See this thread . Apparently some people were deleted accidentally. I hope that is the case with Dom, I've talked to him before and he seems like a stand up guy.

I can't speak to Dominik's case specifically, but scamming / ripping people off is not the only way to get banned.

We're trying to foster a positive community here, and 'not commiting fraud/theft' is a pretty low bar to set, isn't it?

So if someone continually violates the rules, provokes people, or just generally acts like a jerk despite several warnings, they'll be banned sooner or later.

All totally understandable, thats why I still can't see why he was banned. Maybe Rob is on tho something, hehe

I'll answer, I did it.

After several instances where Dom stuck his nose in where it didn't belong, he was asked to stop it.
Intricate, complex, yet settled issues, that were dealt with. Yet he felt the need to stir the pot, and add his take on it.

His response was less than polite, the moderators were accused of being bullies, and he went on and on, about he would always stand up for his friends.
He then listed those friends, most of which have already been banned at this point, for bad attitudes, rude behavoir, or racist remarks.

In followup emails, he spoke of he and his friends, using these attitudes and remarks, to stir things up around here, on purpose, with deliberate targeted club members in mind. In his own words: "...they just know how to piss people off...".


He said: "I'll leave these forums without a fight", and so I felt it was time to simply grant him his wish.

Dom is welcome to start his own UBB, apply for a dsm.org domain, and go to town. I welcome that, truly.
We have some simple rules here, and the funny catch-22 we've been discussing behind the scenes... is that if we let this place go the free way of anarachy that he wants, even he wouldn't want to be here any more.

Welcome 'Newbie on Probation'

I was just curious as to why someone gets 'Newbie on Probation'? I recently joined here a few weeks ago and have only made two or three posts, none of which were out of line. Just wondering why I was put "on probation"?

Because alot of newcomers often are uneducated mindless idiots, unwilling to search for answers, unable to attempt to make a post in which spelling, grammar are at least tolerable.

Often they present themselves with an attitude towards the rules, which are in place for a reason. So if you present yourself well here you get to stay and that is why you are a newbie on probation.

Actually I believe 'Newbie on Probation' is the default title that all new members get now. It doesn't necessarily mean that you've done anything wrong.

But, I think it's a good reminder though that you must follow the rules, and that being new here is not an excuse for violating them.

One can never be too carefull, just look back when Mike Hamilton was around, he helped alot of people including my self with many diff problems and then he scammed few people and lost his "name" on the internet.

That is true, but let's be clear...I don't believe Dominik has ripped anyone off, and I believe he is no longer banned...I believe he is a member here again...I agree with Kevin that Dominik is a good kid....a little opinionated maybe, but I am not one to comment on that myself, LOL!

Well, Mike had something happen to him that was out of his control. He just decided to cut and run rather than stay and deal with it.

But I would bet there are some other members here that would have done the same thing given the circumstances...

That's a shame. I found his vfaqs quite helpful in the past.

yeah it too bad, he was also telling people that I was building the engines that he sold to a few members. I didnt know anything until people were emailing me "where my engine" or what parts did I use. It sure sounds like it was out of his control Troy !
