I have the same problem, and the crap being thrown from my tires is wearing my paint, badly. I'm probably just going to get the spray on rock guard from Crappy Tire. Anyone have any luck with that product?

Eric what is rock guard? Is it just a clear coat or something else?

Used VHT and got the front brakes done so far last week. Looks much cleaner now I painted the rusty hub you could see behind the wheel, the outer edge of the disc, the dust sheild, and the caliper. I also put in the other hood pin too a few days later, so I actually have 2 now lol.
Uhhk rust.

Very nice car man, looks like a lot of time and hard work went into it.

Now you need to slam the front down. Quite a bit of wheel gap there.

Haha thanks. I have put a fair amount into it. But it was in great shape when I got it. I m going outside in a few actually to work on the brakes some more. I decided to match the calipers bronze like the lip. Then If I have the time I ll start on the rears. I want this baby as clean as possible for cayuga! laugh
Mark I know it needs to be dropped. It eats at me every day frown
I m getting the CF hatch, a BOV then saving for a good setup or coilovers. I just want it lowered about an inch for now.

On another note, I got one caliper done in the same bronze as the lip today. Looks good smile
I would have done more but I had to make a fort in the wheel well to block wind and stop overspray. Then it started raining.

make a fort in the wheel well out of pillows and bed sheets like back in the day. You could have wars with nerf guns with other peoples forts in their 2Gs!

Im stumped between going wingless or keeping it. Also think the top half is going to be painted black to match the roof.

Lol This is officially my build thread.

I like that a lot, looks good.

How much lighter is the CF hatch, and what is your plan for the rear glass, just going to transfer it over to the new hatch?

Yeah looks good Mike

I'm not sure about painting the top portion though... Won't you see an edge from where the paint ends and the CF begins? Even with the wing on, there's no real.. line to separate the two to make them look natural. At least that's how it seems to me from the last picture.

Bashar I ll weigh it all if I can when I put it on, The glass is being swapped, and with all the other things that are priority at the moment thats why I have to just leave it hanging in the garage till I have that money.
Mike if you look at a stock hatch it has a indented line from the rear quarter window to the hatch glass. It would replace that line I guess you could say. Thought about maybe having it have a subtle fade as a transition, dunno yet.

I ll probably Lower it first, and then it wont look as funny wingless. I dunno though the wing really adds character.
Brandon, I wouldnt do that, too much money I just cant picture it looking right. Ive seen it on a red 2g and it throws off the roofline.

I mean, if you're not going to put on a CF wing with a CF hatch, I wouldn't put the wing back on at all. IT will just make the wing look out of place. CF hatch with CF wing would at least flow, feel me?

Hmm I perfectly understand what you saying. Ive seen it done both ways on red. It got complimented both. Im thinking I ll paint the top half and go wingless. Then some day I can just paint the whole thing and then put the wing back on when I miss it.
At least its not going to rust bird

stock bare skeleton weighed aprox 33 lbs, Cf weighed aprox 13 lbs.
Stock struts still work with the weight of the stock glass, and it actually opens itself. Defroster can be re grounded by extending a wire over to the ground wire in the wiper/brake light harness

Looks great Mike but I really do like the stock GSX wing.

Looks ok, is the trunk just a bit open hence the gap? And That half paint job makes it look like it has a trunk and is not a hatch, not sure how I feel about that.

Hmm, I didn't even notice the top half was painted until you pointed that out.

I'm with Brandon, I'm on the fence with that..

Looks good. When I had my CF Hatch installed, I left the wing off and fell in love with it.

Also, get a little tint on your windows (haha if you want, im not telling you what to do) and that car will look wicked.
