Figure I would do a thread on my install, and progress before the Invasion.

Got myself an hy-35, mated on a ebay manifold. With a Jaime Loo wastegate, I'm going to be a test dummy on this.

Jeff White welded up a nice downpipe for me and braced my manifold for me:

Ziggy Got me my shipment in great time, had to go with a forward facing oil filter housing from a mighty max to clear the downpipe.

My buddy cut off the wastegate flange and angled it for me as it would not clear the power steering.

It fits quite nice:

Still to come:
-Finialize turbo, manifold, etc
-Cyclone intake install
-Wiring harness for second fuel rail
-Fuel rail plumbing
-Shifter cable replacement
-finish exhaust, flex, cat, wastegate dump tube
-oil feed adapter, pressure test.
-Tuning

Hey mike,
Reinforce that manifold/wastegate flange, or IT WILL fall off.

It will save you some headaches for sure.

That timing belt only has maybe 15000k on it.

And ya I got my buddy to weld that flange to the one runner,
I will look into doing more braces.

Brace the flange to the engine block, not to the runners.

Use the tab on the engine block normally used to support the downpipe. You could brace the manifold, or the downpipe. Either way, you are trying to deal with the turbocharger's weight. A lot of aftermarket products miss this feature. Mitsu engineers already braced the turbo on the downpipe, but everyone else just let's it all (turbo+exhaust) hang on the exhaust manifold.

Brace the downpipe to support the turbo - without bracing it, the turbo is hanging with the exhaust weight like big dog testicles dangling around...

Nice setup let us know when it spools up. That little housing should spool up nice maybe just as fast as a lil 14b.

You should post this up on the dsmtuners holset thread #(whatever there on now).

It will spool no where near as fast as what a 14b does.
I know from experience;)

What bolts were used to mount the turbo to the manifold?

Really shitty grade 3 ones.
I will get all good stuff on there dont worry.

I hit a snag last night I cant beleive I didnt notice before. When I went to prime my turbo and check if oil came out the other side yet, my oil drain line scrapes and shoots directly into my front motor mount.

I'm going to have to scrap together something quick.

I ran into this problem and had a party with the die grinder.
There's enough meat to cut off of the mount and not worry about it.
Mine is -10 with a 45deg swivel hose end at the turbo. I think I used a straight on the pan.

Ya I am thinking of going larger or modifying the stock Holset drain hose.

Well I got the car started tonight.

No white smoke comming out... so that made me happy.

I gotta get a 45 like Rob mentioned, and fix some heater hoses. and I should be able to drive it to get exhaust welded up the rest of the way.

But me not thinking that tomorrow is a holiday.. will have to wait till Thursday for that fitting.

Got some pregress.

Piecing together my exhaust, going to get what I need right after I write this.

My oil filter housing from a mighty max to clear the downpipe

The tight fit to make that return line fit. Had to take a chunk out of the motor mount.

I think the second rail will pop off. The braces are too long and will bend. You suck Mike.

^^^ not as good as your girlfriend.

That shits so thick, you'd need a press to bend that.
It will work.
Getting it wired up in 1 day is another problem.
