Hey guys, I recently rebuilt my head and some other work on my 7 bolt, and aftermarket bolts were used for the water pump pulley, resulting in the bolts breaking off and the pulley coming of which caused my engine to heat up but I shut it down before it overheated and it seems good now but I don't want to take a chance before i put my turbo setup before spring and Now i want to rebuild the bottom end also while replacing a new HG, Looking to make some serious power in the future demon , But aside from that, what pistons, rods, etc would you guys recommend, for a strong 10-11 sec car

Try a stock 6-bolt instead of dumping money in a 7-bolt.

I'm pretty new to the DSMs but I know that CP and Arias make awesome pistons. You're forking out $600 for a set either way but the CP ones come with deeper valve reliefs from what I've read.

If you're beefing up your pistons, at least upgrade to 6 bolt rods and pistons. The 6 bolt rods and pistons.

If you're going all out get at least Eagle H-beam 7 Bolt rods and some CP pistons.

Those should never break with whatever boost you throw at them properly.

Now I'm just planning to boost up the stock 7bolt and if it blows then I will look into rebuilding smile

6 bolt rods and 2g pistons?
Should be good for your goals of 11s I would think.

Coupled with a good head gasket and L19s.

Just keep the stock 7 bolt. Install ARP headstuds and a new oem headgasket. Run high boost and enjoy power for cheap. You can get alot of power out of a stock 4g63.

To be honest, instead of wanting to build a 10 sec car, you should set a goal of running some 12's first with some basic bolt on mods smile

It will teach you how to tune and make the most of what you have without just cranking things up to go to the moon!

Yeah that was back in January don't know what I was on bah I'm trying to do everything I can right now.. with school and all its hard. 12 seconds would be awesome but its a long road for me right now. But hopefully I can hit a 12 second pass in this car! Well we will find out this summer!

Edit: Punctuation
