Well...the grace period is up on Feb 1st and then begins fines for use of handheld devices. Also looks like they can charge you if you have a tv/computer display if visible to the driver.

Good thing there's a clause that excludes if it displays/monitors vehicle health wink e.g. laptop based utilities??

Ya I'd be closing my laptop if I were to get pulled over but you could fight it. Dsmlink definitely shows the health of the vehicle and if it's right there in the act it'd be pretty hard to argue.
