I agree also. I have a hard time watching TSN and Sportsnet already and now this. What a total lack of class. During the Beijing Olympics, I was glued to the TV, not now, I watched maybe an hour at best today. The only bright spot for me has been the Rick Hansen segments.

I agree with all comments here.....I want Ron Maclean back, his coverage of the summer Olympics was second to none. CTV have commentators and interviewers that generally have nothing to do with major sporting events, and now they think they can cover the Meca of all sporting.....ridiculous! The two that called the Men's moguls last night (although they did a fairly respectible job) had never really called anything like that before... Don't hate me for this, but I have actually been catching a fair bit of the NBC coverage The only problem there is that most of their coverage is time delayed, but at least they have veteran reporters who actually know the sports....geeeezzzz

Worst olympics EVER, should have know from the start it would be awful.
Most embarassing terrible opening ceremonies, (what you didnt know Canada was entirely french/native indian people)
Throw that on top of poor track design/safety killing a kid day 1, I'd say this olympics has been permanately black balled.

Yeah I thought the opening ceremonies were a little painful as well....I don't mind the idea of "embracing our heritage", but I think they are going WAAAYYY overboard with it!
As for the tragic death, yes I agree it was a tragedy, but I don't think you can blame organizers/designers for the death. The Canadian teams have been practicing there for months now, with little to no incidents, and if you sign up for Luge to do 150km/hr on your back (or stomach for Skeleton), then you are taking your life in your hands, whatever you track you may be on.
I wouldn't go as far to say this Olympics is black-listed, but they are off to a bit of a rough start for sure.

I agree Mike that NBC has done a good job. The NBC coverage of the womans moguls was more respectful to Jenn Heil than our own. NBC commentators just seemed more excited and seemed to be pulling for her.

I actually disagree... mostly... as I can't comment on the interviews you speak of.
I enjoyed CTV's coverage, and actually thought this evening how good of a job they did.
Along with the song, I also enjoyed it. I believe.
As for the Dr. bits, I ALSO enjoyed those.. muscles, brain function, etc. To me, they were quick, educational, and interesting.
Maybe I'm biased because I went to Vancouver/Whistler for the Olympics, and still have much of the spirit still in me (or maybe just the Kokanee beer), but I must say, I'm satisfied and impressed with the coverage.
(Saw Jennifer Hedger in person in Whistler village.... such a hottie, wicked bum).
I'm a big fan of Kippy as well, and enjoyed him with Bob McKenzie and company.
