Paul, I have a head from my parts car that I didn't sell b/c the buyer backed out (big suprise). I was going to rebuild it myself but who knows when THAT'LL be??? LOL

The car was a 96 tsi but, correct me if I'm wrong, between 6 and 7 bolt motors the heads are all the same.

Pm me if you're interested.

I'll correct you. They are different in many ways.

Negative! The 7-bolt heads had 1mm smaller head bolts/studs, so to use on a 6-bolt bottom end they would need to be drilled out to accept the larger 6-bolt head bolt/stud. Also 7-bolt heads have a better port design then the 6-bolt head.

I got one.
I had and extra one so i took it to get machine to elimitate downtime when I install my metal head gasket.
The one I have is the running one that was on my car 6 months ago.

Hoping that nothing breaks this summer.

FTFY. smile

The 1G 7 bolt head intake runners are the same size as the 1G 6 bolt head due to the size of the intake manifold.

Actually if you're using stock head bolts the 1g 7 bolt head will fit onto a 6 bolt. And the 1ga exhaust manifold will even fit over the large outer studs on the 1gb head. I've interchanged these many times with no issue.

I've got a 6 bolt head.

I bought it off Mark B (a fellow member here).

I didn't use it myself, but its in excellent shape.

Everything is there, the only thing to note is that it has on broken manifold stud.

Let me know.
