So I hope no one who's planning an Ontario cruise has the intention of informing their friendly neighbourhood OPP.

Jackasses. A-channel too, for their grade F reporting skills.

Just glimpsed. After I saw multiple 50k and over charges a few with children in the car. I kinda figure they had it coming.

Why is it people on cruises insist on speeding? Dsm cruises have been the only one where people stick close to the speed limits.

On a local cruise with some friends they though 20 over wasn't enough they had to pass people who are already speeding *sigh*

Edit: Sorry reading the 50k over triggered rant... lol

You know what though? If we did do a cruise with such high numbers (like it would ever happen with DSM Canada.... shuffle ) it would not be a bad idea to inform the OPP of our cruise. Our cars attract a LOT of attention, and as stated in the story, better to work with the law rather than against it.

Still, you get that many people together in a crowd, you're going to have quite a few bad apples.

Jay you really skimmed the blog post.

Channel A news up north, reported that there were several charges laid, and 50kms over the speed limit with children in the car was one of them.

From the accounts of the Mini club members, they said 4 cars were pulled over, and 3 were ticketed for doing 123km/h in a 90km/h zone.

They were pulled over right when the speed limit changed from 100km/h to 90km/h on some stretch of highway up north.

This really sounds like a setup to me.

I thought law enforcement encouraged car clubs to contact them when having many cars do a cruise.

It was a freakin' fund raiser!

Also, A Channel making up a story with false information made up from the idiot journalist's imagination.

Wow.

That reporter is going to get some hate mail.

This really sucks.

Don't be so negative, Ryan.
We did it last year from Toronto to Cayuga. DSMs as far as the eye can see.. Sorry you couldn't make it out, but please don't dismiss it.

On topic of this story, OPP up by 400/11 is nothing new.

If that bad reporting happened, well great that the story was pulled and yes some reporter should get a talking to.

Shitty if they were tipped off, however by that story I'm not convinced.

+1 Rob. That was great. Best was the line up of dsm's waiting at the entrance of Cayuga... Or coming out of the Timmys parking lot.

haha, ya ya, I'm like Tony Stark, I don't show up to my parties tongue I'll be there this year as long as my car doesn't blow up, and even if it does, I'll catch a ride with someone else.

Oh not dismissing it, I know it happened and I wished I was there! I've never seen so many DSM Canada members show up to 1 event.

Yeah we have had quite a few caravans back in the day. Lots of cars and even more testosterone.

I remember a trip from Yorkdale to Magnus one summer. Wow.

Some people are smart/calm. Others think its an excuse to act like an ass.

I enjoy the caravans and organized a bunch of them a long time ago. But you can't drive more than 100km/hr or the people in the back have to do 120-130 to keep up. And lane changing is a bitch too. This needs to be kept to a minimum also :-D

Well I'll be there for sure!

+1 to the number of members that showed up to the past events.

smile

I've always wanted to drive a DSM on one of those meets/cruises/events, and now I finally have one, and I just got her back on the road reliably, so I'm down and waiting. smile
