Everyone has a story why they bought the DSM they own, looks, price, power, sex appeal... the list goes on. I thought I would take a moment to share mine, as it involves, incidently, one of our esteemed mods.

It was a late night back in summer of 2004. I was finishing up my shift at Stream. As I stood at the employee entrance hoping for a ride from someone into Belleville, because I didn't want to walk, this guy came strolling out the door. I ask if he is able to take me to Bridge and Sidney, and he said yes.

So off we go down the parking lot to this sexy deep purple 2G Talon/Eclipse conversion. If anyone by this time knows who this is, yes, that would be Mr. Tim Hunt.

I had my goals set for a nice 5.0L Mustang, black.. yada yada yada. Tim made a left onto Sidney and launched me from Dundas to Bridge in about 15 seconds, or so it felt. I had never felt that kind of power in any car I'd been in. From then on, I had my sights set on a Talon.

2 years later, Proud owner of a 1994 TSi FWD.

6 months later my 1994 TSi FWD is the proud owner of my wallet. laugh

What's your story?

When the TEL's first hit the market, they created quite a stir. I for one, was fascinated by how cool it was to have an AWD car....because up until then, I always pictured 4WD to reserved only for trucks. (and that strangely cool AMC Eagle of yore...)
Anyway, the concept fascinated me, but the styling of those first gen's did nothing for me (I always thought they were just a few inches too skinny)

I always liked the styling of the 2G's when they came out. When the styling got retouched for 97, I was sold (The saturn ring spoiler is what cinched it for me wink ). I went to the dealership, but $35K was out of my league.

I had put this car out of mind for a while, thinking I wouldn't be able to get one, until I was in Raleigh NC for the summer of '99.
Eclipses were everywhere......I mean everywhere.
I went to the Mitsubishi dealership to test drive one to see what the big deal was......but I took out a GS....and was unimpressed......still, an attractive car, but not overwhelming in the power department.

A short while later I was back in London, and decided it was time to retire my trusty MR2, and looked for a Tsi AWD. I figured, if you're going to get something, and pay a lot of money for it, you might as well get the top-of-the-line edition, otherwise you'll always be bugged by the notion that there's a "better/more equipped one out there..." ; at least, that's how I view it.....why settle when what you really want is available
So I went all the way to Toronto to check one out, and bought it.

Coming from the MR2 which had no power accessories or even A/C, I sat in this Talon and thought:
"this car is too nice for me... smile "
But hey, I bought it anyway......and have enjoyed it ever since.......because damn! is it ever sexy.

I want an RS4.

Well my story isn't quite as amazing as the previous two. But here goes.

I took my winter beater, 93 escort, to my buddies garage to fix up my muffler because the brackets had rusted off.

He took one look under my escort and told me it's time for a new car. And in doing so pointed out the 93 tsi awd sittin in the parking lot that was for sale.

I looked at the car and fell in love instantly. Dark green paint. Leather interior, Power windows/locks. A/C.

I was in heaven. Then the price tag of $1300 sold me.

Now only having it for 6 weeks, and already have spent an extra $700 on top of the car, I am still in love.

I have learned more about cars and motors more specifically in the six weeks I have owned my dsm then I have in my previous 22 years of existance.

Now I'm inches away from having it running the way it should, and man do I have itch to get out there and start blowin the doors of civic's.

Hopefully sooner rather then later *fingers crossed*

When i was 16, my brother jamie bought a tsi awd 92. He then put a 16g small turbo in it and some suporting mods. I wasn't really into cars that much but after getting in the car with him a few times, I was hooked. We used to race Boxers, 300 xz TT's, mustangs, mersades, and all kinds of hondas. My brother always smoked them and when he hit it I was always stuck to the seat.
When I turned 18 and got my first car (Had not ever drivin standard) It was a Talon tsi awd 92..lol. After Paying Tap auto to do all my work I became broke quick. (for no reason other than I wanted the best of everything) I realized how much I loved the car and decided I wanted another one for winter and for parts in the summer when I needed them. This is when I started learning how do to everything myself. I went out and got a second awd tsi 92 same colour and everything. ( I swear I wasn't running them both under the same insurance and lisence plate!!) one year later I sold my second one and used the money to upgrade my origanal one. I crushed that into a curb 6 months later swerving from a dog!! grrr. One week later I bought my brothers Talon, the first Talon that inspirored me. I'm addicted to being the underdog. I love my Talons because of the sound, and looks i get, at the line, at the next light when they catch up to talk, when i let the BOV go off, and the constant pull.

I'm now selling my Tsi 92 for a newer style tsi to convert to eclipse. I know that my dsm love will always be with me. I think I'll buy my first new car when the Evo X comes to North America. I haven't heard for sure what type of engine it will carry but I thought someone said it was the last year for the 4g63. I can only hope.

Live Right Live DSM..lol

Spring of 1996 and I had just written off my car by hitting a moose in Northern Ontario coming home from university in Subury.
Went looking for a small truck, to haul bikes and stuff around and ended up a dealership in Brighton Ontario. He had the truck that was looking for exactly, but it was at his other lot in Cobourg, he offered to either bring it down for me to Brighton, or to drive another car there for me to see it. Handed me the keys for a red Talon he had on his lot for way too long, (he gave way too much on trade, and thus was asking way too much) drove it to look at the truck, and by the time I got there wanted the Talon, and forgotten the truck.
Made lowball offer on the talon, and a couple of days later the dealer called back accepting the offer.
Been driving DSM's for 10 years now.

my brother had an ESi, and I loved the looks. So when I got my license I started looking for a car. Instantly I looked for a DSM but they were wayyy out of my price range So i settled witha honda. after like 6 months of the Honda and tryingt o fix it up, i qquit.. had more rust than I thought and just didnt want to deal with it. So I looked for a new car, again DSM. Found an ESi, and almost bought it. Paid $100 deposit for him to go safety but after a week+ the guy still didnt get it done so i said screw it. Lost my 100 and went car hunting again.
I couldnt find ANY dsms close by so I thought my dream would end there.
I decided to look into my other dream and get a car imported from japan. I LOVE skylines butt he GTR was out of my price range. So I found a nice GTS-T. Though The time for that to get shipped here was a year. Than I foudn a Turbo RX7 FC. But again it would take a few months.

Now it has been a week and the new auto trader out. I flip through and see a 2G Tsi AWD for a pretty decent price! I go look at it but the place was closed so just looked on the closed lot. Told my mom thats the car. Since I had school the next day I got my parents to go in and buy the car so no one else takes it laugh ....

I was looking for a fast, nice looking car.. For the cost, a 1G DSM is a pretty tough car to beat. Mod potential is huge, and thus here i am owning one for those reasons.

Aside from requiring more attention then a 16 year old school girl, i am satisfied with my purchase.

I wish i had the money to build my motor

I got mine because I thought they were sexy when I was a teenager. I was driving a Mustang GT and was commuting a lot. The V8 was to hard on gas so I switched for the Talon.

Problem is now the Talon is much worse on gas then the Mustang ever was.

At the time I owned an 89 Civic SI HB, and it was rotting to hell, over 300,000 kms, and was having to repair things weekly, so I was starting to look for a new car.

Well, I was driving home from college one day, and noticed a really sweet looking maroon car in someone's driveway with a big for sale sign on it... I loved the bump on the hood, the color-matched mesh rims, and sleek body lines. I turned around and went looking for the owner. No one was home, so I looked over the car. I had previously never heard of a Plymouth Laser RS, but I went home and looked it up online. To my amazement, I realized it was the sister of the Talon... **flash back to when I was 14** I remember that my parents and I went to visit some family friends. They had recently purchased a Talon TSi AWD (It was a 1Gb). My dad's friend asked him if he wanted a ride and invited me along as well... All I can remember is how much I was glued to the seat when he tromped on it.

Needless to say, I wanted the car. I went back later that night, and the seller was in. He unfortunately had to let the car go, 'cause he had too many other cars and his wife wanted him to sell it. So, I took it out for a test drive, and a few little 1st-2nd pulls and I was hooked. Went to the bank, couldn't get a loan. Talked to my grandparents and got a loan from them, and went to pick it up, and he kept saying he wanted to sell it, then didn't want to. Eventually he said yes when I had the cash, and went and scooped it up for $2700 cert.

I love my Laser, and she is currently getting some TLC to prolong her life (new timing belt, metal head gasket, arp studs, and a quick port & polish), and then it'll be time to add some basic mods and turn up the boost a bit.

I love the look on the honduh and other import drivers when I pace them, and then drop the throttle and take off.

If I ever get another car it'll be a 2g, or a 3000GT... Stickin' to Mitsu from now on!!!

i've been in love with anything carrying a mitsu engine, and seeing as how my 1g carries the ever infamous 4g63 I couldnt turn it down, Plus the price was right and I was going to buy either a cobalt ss( which i might still buy later) or and audi 2.0L turbo, and since the talon is considered domestic it was way cheaper on insurance, oh and this one matched my paintball gun.. sorry for the huge run on

Back in the day my buddy Kevin McDonald first started in the Turbo scene with his Turbo daytona. His welded Dif and his upgraded his turbo an it was enough to just smoke my Mustang GT rom a roll. Well he got tired of driving a POS, and he bought a 98 TSI AWD and I fell inlove with it and got my own DSM...

To me the Turbo feel was way better than My sluggish feeling 94 GT and I feel inlove with Turbo's... END OF STORY

My dad had a 1G TSI AWD and I loved it so much. He sold it after he threw the timing belt and since that day I decided to set my sights on a DSM. I drove the worst Ford Windstar civilized roads had ever seen while saving up for it. Oh the memories.

Well, I just bought mine about 4 weeks ago. I had a 99 Civic SiR and I was getting tired of it fast.
I decided it was time to start looking for a new toy. I decided that I wasn't going to settle on anything unless it was rear or all wheel drive.
So naturally I thought of a 240SX, but there are alot of those on the road. I went to a car lot that had a 95 240 just to see how they look up close. Well, they had a 96 TSi AWD. It had a 75,000 kms on it and had only one owner. It was the dark purple with gray int. I loved it...but the salesman was a F*@%ING A$$*^!E. I really didnt feel good about the whole thing.
The next day a guy came right up to me and offered to buy my car.....so I sold it right there. That afternoon I saw a 97 TSi AWD for sale on the net. I went and took a look at it ASAP and I fell in love with it. I think it was the higher wrap around wing that reeled me in.
It had a few small flaws but it was in all around great shape.
I am now driving that car and I never get sick of hearing mmmmmmmmmmppsssssshhht!!!

Thats my story and I am sticking to it.
See you guys at the meet this weekend!!

I was always a die hard old v8 guy. First car was a bandit trans am in 1978.Yeah I am that old.48 this year.

Had some engine swaps for awhile v8 vega, then played with some chevy 1980 v8 monzas.
Had some fieros 1984 4 banger, and two v6 fieros.
Then back to my 2nd gen f body stage had a 78 trans am and an 80 formula. Then had some turbo motorcyles, yamaha 650 seca turbos.

Then in 1997 or so it was back to f bodies this time fourth gens. Had a 96 ta, 97 ta ws6 and then finally my current 99 ta ws6.

A year or two ago was interested in getting a fun all season car and an awd turbo talon seemed to fit the bill.
I found one at auction. It was hurting but decent priced and got it running decent and then the mod bug bit hard and went crazy on it.
Did the big 50 trim and fuel system and tuning but never got around to the fixing the shot factory clutch or changing the stock sidemount.
I ordered new clutch and big fmic but sold them when decided to sell the 92.
I got the itch to get a 2g so bought a nice arrest me red 97 talon awd turbo from BC.
It got shipped to me on the train .It was from those crooks forget the name of the dealership.
The car was mint interior and very good bodywise but the engine lasted a week or so.
Their warranty was crap..think it was CITYGATE MOTORS!
Anyway I got it a bit cheaper than would have paid for a good one out here so parked it when the engine died and have been accumulating parts
ever since.
Finally now its in the final stages of being put together with eveything in the sig. And should be up in a week or two with any luck.
I really like the dsm and plan on keeping my 97 for a long time.Maybe upgrade to a 4g if they add turbos and awd. But not for many years.
I figure the 97 will be a supercar when its done.

I also bought a non running 91 fwd turbo and resurrected it from the dead and drive it a bit now till my 97 is done. Then sell the 91 I think and use the bucks for more goodies for my 97 and my other cars.

Dsm are big fun but can be very high maintenance and are not as reliable as my f bodies from what I have seen .I will back to back quartermile my fourth gen camaro or firebirds or my second gen firebird and nothing has broken. The talons I feel they are pretty delicate under hard use.
I plan on buying a really good trans and maybe axles for my 97 next year so have to baby it a bit this year.
It will be hard to do that with what is going in there. But have to try.

1997 TALON AWD ,fully built 2.4,FP3065.

99TAWS6 427 Twin turbo,91 TALON race car,08 Z06.

I wanted a good reliable car..........LOL!!!!!

Wife (girlfriend at the time) bought a 90 NT in 92.
Took the car for ride and couldn't believe how well it handled.
I knew then that this car was no longer hers. tongue
Still have the car today and I have no plans on getting rid of it.

You aren't that old, Al. My first car was a '57 Chevy! I bought my first DSM this January, after 2 years of developing a respect for these cars while selling parts!! Just now starting to play with it and mod it smile

The first time I really saw a talon was when I was at my grandparents. A guy I gamed with over the net lived 2 minutes from my grandparents. Had a big lan was lots of fun but then we were getting hungry so we decided to go out and grab something to eat. He had a black tinted 1gb N/A with turbo. I didn't get to ride in it at the time but he rev'd it to 7000 as we were exiting the fastfood place. I was hooked instantly, but I was to young to drive.

About 2 years later when I started to look for my own car I remembered that talon. Started researching the web stumbled onto this website and dsmtuners. It was only then that I realized what you could do on a budget with a dsm. The first one that I tried to actually buy was in Ottawa and was mint 6/4 bolt 92. Only problem is he wouldn't safety it for me before I drove up there. I actually talked to him on the phone a few times, and he still owns the car today as far as I know.

The second one I went to look at I was going to buy for sure. It was in toronto so I drove down with my buddy on the weekend and as I pull up I see the car. However there is also a blue laser behind it and the owner is with a person with papers on the trunk. My heart dropped the car was sold 10 minutes before I got there. I was bummed but I had a 24 of Canadian in the trunk so I felt better that night.

Then I found a black 1991 tsi awd that was in king city. Car needed some loving (Throw out bearing done, high idle and surge, slightly damaged rim). The car had so many extras and was so close I had to go look. Pulled out the cash from the bank the day before and went to see it. I just about had a heart attack at the age of 18, as we pulled in the driveway (I was with my dad). There was a guy in a escort already talking to the owner. That turned out to be Nigel talking to the owner Paul (who had a sexy black 2nd gen in the garage) Went out for a spin with paul in it and I knew I wanted it. I guess Nigel was turned off a bit by the tranny problems. Put a down payment on it so he could go get the cert and e-test. He dropped it off a week later, and guess what the first thing I did that night was? I locked the keys in the car with it running(Stupid security system locks the doors as soon as you start the car).

I love it despite the problems it has had, many I had planned on fixing anyways but had to put off. ( I ended up not working in the winter and things got tight). I have been working non-stop the past few weeks and I'm trying to get it running for sunday (Thanks to markham Mitsu again, those guys rock).

Kind of long winded lol, but I love dsm's

P.S. Nigel if you see this the reason the tranny felt like garbage was because the shift cables were about toast. The one cable snapped when my slave cylinder started to die. I just put some new ones in tonight and the tranny feels mint.

I was a V8 guy for along time - my first car was a '76 Stingray, man I loved that car!! - I had to sell it to go to university and I ended up with an '87 Accord. After graduation I bought a used '91 Prelude and thought I was darn cool. Well, while in school my best freind had a Sundance TURBO which absolutely hauled ass!!..so I knew the benefits of the turbo but always thought they were tempermental so I'll stick with my 'lude thank you. Until....he shows up with a dark green 2G and throws me the keys. I drive it and gave up on trying to play catch-up with my Honduh. It took my a few months to find it but I found this beautiful black 2G (the roof matches the rest of the car..how novel!!) and it was done. I don't drive it much anymore..my wife is slowly trying to kill it driving it everyday to work but soon I'll have it back for a weekend car. Luckly its not worth anything so I can justify keeping it forever!! The biggest drawback is trying to find something else that comes close...there is nothing else with the performance levels that is AWD and doesn't feel like a Civic inside (sti)...

Other then that, bang for the buck in performance.

Yes, I remember that day well, it all worked out nicely for me as well the next day I found my current car and immediately purchased it. I'm happy with my purchase, and glad the 91 seems to have worked nicely for you as well!

As for why I bought my DSM's... 1st one was a total rustbucket, I bought it cause I was gungho and decided to buy some POS, I spent a few months and a few G's on it, and it was actually a pretty decent car with a rattle can paint job... Got T-boned 3 months later, and that was all she wrote for #1.
#2 Was sitting for a good time before I bought it, bought it cause it was only 1000 bucks... did a compression test was good numbers all around, drove ok, needed some TLC. After that it turned out to be a great car that I enjoyed for about a year beating on it plenty, and than sold it for about as much as all the money I had in it.
#3 I bought off the original owner, I took it out for a test spin and it was SOLID, and I still feel extremely confident in the car in its stock/original form, drive it everywhere, never had an issue. Hench why I feel its cheap, fast, and reliable!

I was in high school and my dad was planning on picking up a new car. He decided to test drive a 95 tsi and I fell in love with it right away.
He ended up buying a Mazda Protege (yea...go figure) but I always remembered the pull of the turbo.

Fast forward about 2 years. I was 18 and just bought my first car, a 94 Pontiac Sunbird. As much as it was a box on wheels, the thing took me around everywhere. I was driving around the Dundas/Dixie area when I spot this gleaming black car in the distance. As I get closer I realize it's a 98 tsi...and the memories start to flood back in. I instantly knew that that was the car I wanted...the styling was just perfect.

It took a good 5 years (school can really ruin plans on spending tons of cash) but all of my friends knew that the second I had the cash available, I'd be picking up a 2gb. Finally, I found a good priced stock black 97 tsi up for sale and jumped onto the dsm craze. It needed a lot of TLC but I got a great deal on it and am pleased with my purchase to this day.
This baby's going to stay in the fam for years!

Back in the late 80's, a buddy in high school, talked about this turbo-charged all wheel drive awesome machine that was coming.

In university, when it came, he was all over it, telling me technical specs, etc.

When he finished and went to work for Microsoft in Seattle, he bought one.

From the first days we could read about it, I was impressed with the concept, of the turbo, and more importantly, the AWD. Why drive only 2 wheels, when you have 4 on the road.

In 92 or 93, I started putting the brochures on my office wall, a new one each year. smile

In 97, I finally could afford one, so I drove my special ordered 97 AWD off the lot, with 4 km on it.

Too bad, I never knew the "real" price. tongue

I had always loved Talons as a kid. I remember sitting in a 90 TSi AWD in the showroom when I was there with my dad looking at cars and saying "This is the car I want to buy when I grow up" smile

Fast forward to 1999.. I stumbled upon ca.dsm.org and began reading.. and reading.. and reading.. stories of 16G's, 20G's, AWD launches, and smoking mustangs and camaro's with a 4-cylinder.. the decision was confirmed. smile

In 2002 I graduated from University and joined the ranks of the unemployed. I happened to drop into a used car dealer to have a look around and the salesman came up to me and asked if he could help me. I told him I was "looking" for a talon.. which are few and far between in Newfoundland.. let alone a TSi AWD. I gave him my phone number in case anything came in (yeah right).

2 weeks after that I get a call on my cell.. "I found your car for you.. 98 TSi AWD, Black, 5 speed, leather, fully loaded, 55k on it". I couldn't believe it! This was the EXACT car that I wanted right down to every last option. The salesman actually ran into the owner somewhere and told him he could sell his car for him, turns out he was thinking about selling it anyways. Long story short, I saw it, drove it, and had to have it.. and now I do smile

This past winter I decided I wanted AWD Turbo all year round and picked up a 90 TSi AWD for a winter bomb. I wonder if it's the same one I sat in, in the showroom back in 1990?? laugh

I was always a bit of a car nut when I was a kid. Memorized the driver's handbook when I was 6, watched drivers as much as I could. My father let me drive somewhat since I was 12... The odd thing was that I could never wrap my head around the technical mechanic bits of them at those ages. So 'building a hotrod at the age of 14' was never in the cards for me. But driving...whoo boy.

Graduation from high school in '90. Favourite cars at the time were the Z-28, Mazda RX-7, the Buick Regal Grand National GNX, and most 'muscle' cars of the late 60's. But I was also a computer geek, and also been fascinated by the glimpses I'd had of 'technical' European rally cars like the Lancia Delta Integrale and such, or of the Mitsubishi's Jackie Chan drove in the Cannonball Run movies. I remember a contest everyone in our high school had entered, where you got to choose either a Mazda MX-6 coupe (I think) or a Miata. EVERYONE chose the Miata. I chose the coupe. "It's faster." (:

So when the DSM's and Stealth's were introduced, I was immediately enraptured by the Stealth RT/Turbo. But I thought it was kind of heavy. I also loved the Talon TSi AWD. I had a car driving game on my C64 (think it was Car & Driver's), and when my brothers and friends drove Porsches and Ferraris, I took the Talon. I don't know why. I dropped by a sales show and sat in one, and was hooked. I was 6'2 already at 17, and the dash layout was PERFECT. Like a fighter plane's, the look of which was mirrored by the black canopy.

I knew a Stealth was WAY out of my price-range, and so was the TSi AWD. The sales guy tried to get me to test an ES or ESi, but I refused. The AWD was the one I had to have.

So after spending two years in TO, and then moving back (pretty much penniless) in '92, I bought an '88 Cavalier RS as my first car since it was cheap. In '95 I had two jobs, and when I ended up leaving my then g/f I needed something to occupy my attention. If it was to be a car it had to be driveable year-round, as it would be my ONLY one. My choices were a Z-28 (new $28k), Acura Integra GSR (used $25k), or the TSi AWD (new $31k).

$31k was a bit high, the Z-28 salesguy blew me off because he was sure I couldn't afford the thing, (wouldn't have been a good winter car anyway, and was a bit wide), so I was gearing up for the GSR when a '90 AWD came on a lot for $13k with only 75k kms on it. Perfect shape. So I jumped on it. A friend came with me for the test drive, and when we turned on a city street and went from 20-120kph in 4-5 seconds, my friend said "You must buy this car." Which I had already planned to do anyway.

I don't regret one second of the resulting 7 year roller-coaster ride. I watched the Talon Digest grow, encouraged Dave Buschur to quit his job at the steel mill and open his shop, watched as DSM's went from Aquarium valves and hope to GM MAFTs and sub 8-second times. The crowd on the DSM list and resulting sub-sites (like this one) only makes me more glad I made that decision. I don't think you'll find a friendlier and more helpful community anywhere.

My only regret is that I had no money to take part in any of it. Once the Chrysler Dealer screwed my car up once, my money just went to keeping it on the road (always when I just had enough saved up for that new X... Sound familiar? (: ).

You never know, I may follow Strelecki's lead and do the S&M thing by buying the old girl back. I know where it is... (:

Well, i dont own a DSM but...

I bought a galant because of one dude, Ian Clark. He was PPG's neighbour and owned a Galant VR4. I remember, Ian took me for a ride on the VR4. We were making a left to Airport Rd. from williams parkway, and i swear to god, when he dump the clutch and mashed the go pedal, my life flashed before me and i was grabbing the door tight.

Ever since then, i had my eyes on Galant VR4. Well, i still do.

I have a slow ass galant, but its fully loaded. I'll work on the go power when i get the funds too.

I almost forgot what 2nd and reverse gear feels like.

One of my co-worker bought an AWD Laser, that was in 1990. I liked the car so I dropped at a local dealership. I tryed one and quickly returned to the dealer and returned the key to the salesman. I told him that I liked it but did not want to buy it as I was not mature enough to have such a powerfull car. I would of killed myself with that thing.

Fast forward to the late 90ies. I needed a beater to replace my now dead Colt. I found a 1991 NT for a good price. Bought the thing and soon found out about the online comunity.

Drove the $#its out for a few years and later bought an 95 AWD.

That's all I got to say about that.

I used to have a cavy 97 z24, it had some work done to it. On the board that I frequented, there was a guy that used to have a 1g TSI FWD.
I've read many of his stories of how easy it was to get mega HP out of the Talon.
I still was not convinced.
Than, by chance I came accross two guys online that had done up Talons. I think I was buying something off them. Anyway, me having a Cavy with intake/exhaust/ported&polished head, and some other stuff, I though I was the sh1t. They wanted to race for money, that's when I did some research on Talons, and quickly refused to race them. I was hooked.
I got into an accident with the Cavy, it was a total loss.
This was the day I started the quest to find a 1g TSI Talon.
Since I've read AWDs had more problems I decided to stick with FWD (a mistake, perhaps?).
I went to 3 dealer ships. I test drove 2 AWD, and 1 FWD. The FWD was mint and was so much quicker than AWD...it was because the boost was at 20psi (wich I did not know at them time).
Anyway, I got the FWD....

I bought a talon because I planned on fixing it and selling it. Then I fixed it and drove it. I was addicted! Plus a friend of mine had a talon forever. It broke all the time but was fast!!

Its been a love/hate relationship ever since!

In the spring of 1900 I pulled into the local Chrysler dealership to get a part for my Mitsu Arrow (third one) and saw what was to be my baby - brand new 1990 Laser RS turbo front and centre in the lot. It was love at first sight. Talked my wife into taking a look and after driving a couple (including some NA talons and lasers) we decided to take the plunge. We rolled the price of it into the mortgage of the house we were buying at the time and now 16 years later it's still running strong for us. Couldn't have bought a better car!

Man you're old. Perty good memory for a guy in his 100's.

For my 19th birthday my mom gave me $4000 to buy my first car. So I went on autotrader.ca and put that in as maximum and the first car was a 1990 TSi FWD. So I decided to google it to see if it can beat my friends cars(2.5L MX6 and 2001 prelude). After a little reading on dsmtuners.com I was hooked. Went out and baught it the next day.
