Hey folks,

so a parking bar, an attempt to squeeze through, rear quarter window... the rest is history.

1. What is it is called, the small window to the rear of the rear window, is it vent window? quarter window? what is the real name for it

2. Where is a good place to get it? scrap yard or anyone know a glass place around Mississauga/KW/Hamilton?

2.1 The car is a 2000 Passat

That is called the rear quarter window.

It's been quite a while but these guys were good to me and they stock a lot of glass:

Thanks Rob,

I'll give them a call, I was hoping some scrap yard would have it. The thing is apparantly screwed in with its frame but I need to take apart a lot of sh!t from inside, not my type of fun in winter

Yes you'll find one there! http://www.car-part.com
Actually that's what I did when I needed a windshield. I got one from the wrecker and brought it to AGS, who then said I wasn't saving much money that way since their price on the glass was not much more than the wrecker price plus being brand new and perfect.

I called them and its 130, the thing is bolted on so I wouldn't want to pay for labour if I don't have to.

car-parts.com I have tried, but they don't list the quarter window, I just have to look for some part in a passat and call whatever scrapyard has a passat of that era listed.

I will call some wreckers to see, it better be not 130 bucks for a reused one!

I wish it was afront window, for the longest time i have looking for a reason to change theold scratched one.

I found your quarter window there, it's under "glass" in the parts list. Around $40 or less if I recall.
