Thoughts on the 2.0T, I got an offer from the dealer to trade in my 09 Accent and they will give me the appraised value plus any that I owe on top. So I was thinking if I do that and the rate is good I would buy one of these.

I read its a world engine similar to the Evo motor and should take upgrades well.

Have heard from a bunch of people that test drove them, the 2.0T wasn't as "peppy" as they thought it would be. On the other hand, if your use to driving an Accent..... tongue

Compared to the Accent much better. I had personally driven a Genesis and it had no balls at all..When it comes down to it if it makes you happy then do it up. But if you can get something better for equal or less cost I suggest doing that.

FYI the motor is the plans of the 4b11, But built by hyndai using cheaper materials (for cost cutting reasons) Not to says its junk but it wont be as good as the evo motor which from what I have heard is amazing.

My girlfriends friend bought the 2.0t I thought it look really nice. Was comfy, didn't seem all too fast even for not have been in a turboed car in awhile. But from what I hear the price of them kinda reflexs that.

Id say do it. If you plan on going big with it after waruntee is up surely you can get evo internals or maybe the evo motor might just drop in =]

2g awd, Back to dsms here I come.

Yeah, I test drove the 2.0t Genesis a couple times and it was any faster than my 1g awd winter beater(stock boost) was.

One thing that kinda bothered me about the Genesis was while open the doors you are supposed to wait a second for the window to drop(like a half inch) - something they did for sealing, maybe road noise as well. I didn't find that the suspension felt that great even factoring in that is a sporty car not a luxury. Despite this I still like the way it looks for the most part and the price is quite good. I was seriously considering picking one up. Its just I have a problem letting go of the Talons I own. rotate

I 've driven them and like as well, but my choice would be the 3.8 with the ZF 6 sp automatic. If you are gonna buy new, possibly the 2011 will have a big jump in power as the turbo Sonata makes over 60 hp more. But of course with Hyundai's depreciation the smart thing is to buy used.

Hit me up at work sometime Adam, I'll get you driving my Ralliart. I think you'll find you like it better than the Genesis. I've driven both, and biased opinion aside, I prefer the Ralliart. Genesis just feels ... "heavy"?

A good friend of mine works for Newmarket Hyundai and I asked him about the turbo Genesis and he says it's a POS. Slow, plagued with electric problems and told me to stay away. This is coming from a certified Hyundai mechanic so take it for what it's worth.

Yah maybe next week I'll come find you Eric, the only reason I would consider this car is the deal they offered, I don't think I'll bne buying a ralliart anytime soon in reality.

I've got to get more of this stupid accent paid off first. Although I do like the accent, its sometimes nice being able to do a uturn anywhere. Cheap to run but I do find myself falling asleep at the wheel due to boredom.

Adam if I was in your position I would get the genesis. If you are getting a good deal why not. It will always be worth more than the accent and you can always sell it down the road.
