In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...the A-Team.

Posted limit was 80, I was doing about 115 or thereabouts.... "Do you know how fast you were going, sir?" "Well, um... not exactly officer. You see, I couldn't see the speedometer because this rheostat switch doesn't work anymore. I have a new one on order, just waiting for it to arrive." "What's that blinking LED display on your dash?" Nice work Waldo.
I've also seen a white Volvo in Burlington and a Yukon or some other GM SUV - all black on the 403 around Erin Mills.

I saw inside one of those vans back in October fest in Kitchener. Windows were tinted beyond belief, but inside I say what looked like police issue laptop stand, laptop, standard police issue single 8 guage shot gun upwright holder. Oh yea, the ladders are bolted to the van, so no chance of taking them off the van.
Never seen them outside of the Kitchener-Waterloo area. But who knows, they seem to be adding new "tactics" to the books.

We should all put decals on our cars that say police in a different shade. They would probably wave to us as we drive by thinking its just another one of those "special cars"

Barrie has some new police cars too. I asked the chief of police about them (good family friend), and he said they are maroon with no lettering on them at all. The front windows are light and the back are all tinted up. They also have regular looking rims on them which used to be a give away.

Well, it's a trade-off. On the one hand, marked cars let you know they're around. How many people do you see drive nice and slow around marked cruisers, and then rocket off like idiots once the 'threat' has passed? Heck, I've seen people drive like idiots around the marked cars and not get pulled over. So in a sense, they're a 'traffic-calming' measure.
OTOH, with unmarked cars you have a better chance of catching the idiot drivers 'in the act'. But it leads to charges of entrapment (some of them true), as well as some crimes that would have been prevented (ie. not have happened) if a marked cruiser had been somewhere an unmarked one was. Of course, when you point out the same people will commit those crimes later most people will shout you down...
If they had more police, all-marked would be the answer. As it is, a blend is the 'best' solution.
