Hey all, it's that time of the year again. Time to start planning the INVASION, figuring out the route, where we will end up, meet up points along the way etc.

Lets just get some ideas of what everyone would want to do?

I think the idea of NOT going to the track is a good idea for an INVASION. Invasion and Track Day, lets keep them as separate events

I'm down for a 2011 invasion. Last year was nice

Why doesn't everyone come up to Prince Edward County?

No offence, I understand that most of DSM Canada populates the Golden Horseshoe, and yet most of you haven't been out this way to really see what truly is a GORGEOUS area.

There are about 10 areas off the top of my head I can think of in the County that would be great for an Invasion.

There are wineries, historic landmarks, Sandbanks Provincial Park, great picturesque areas.

Makes it easier for everyone East to join us as well (Ottawa).

I think thats a great idea Ryan. I love long drives and great scenery.

Sandbanks is nice, but doesn't the day area get a bit crowded? I guess we could reserve an area.. It's just shy of three hours from Yorkdale. A boaring 401 drive too and everyone would probably be too tired for a local "fun" cruise. Nice place for sure, though!

Then again, you guys took that same bad stretch of 401 and then cruised over here I guess it can't be so bad. Hopefully enough can commit to the journey!

3 Hours from Yorkdale... so a total of 8 hours of driving for me that day. What the hell, I'd most likely be in.

Or we can turn this into camping invasion! Then it's a lot less daily drive..

Sandbanks would be nice, been a while since I've been there

If we do it in late July, yeah, it's going to be crowded, at the beach area.

Not to say we HAVE to do Sandbanks, but there are a few different beaches/parking lots. Actually 500M down the road from Eric's place there's North beach, where the parking lot is actually quite large, and the beach right there.

Either way, I vote for bringing it to Prince Edward County. The drive last year was amazing, lets keep the trend going.

It's not THAT far. I think it'd be a pretty cool sight to see 15+ DSM's in a train on the highway. At least that way no one can really get lost.

I agree with the County being a good idea, but Ryan, get your geography right. lol. The beach 500m from my house is called "Sand Dunes". North Beach is towards Consecon.

Beach day sounds good, i mean i dont really want to come out that far and put unessecarry miles on my car but what the hey ive devloped a liking for the invasion. im still really down for a BBQ too (gotta stop coming on here and posting when im so hungry lol). What are the time frames we're looking at ? last year it was in August i believe.

August is good.. It gives a lot of time to prepare, the weather isn't too damn hot, plus the bugs aren't in full force anymore.

I think we need to settle on a date/location now, that way we have lots of time to prepare.

Sandbanks is great, as there are places to camp, and there's lots of property around here where guys can stay. I can personally guarantee accommodations for anyone who has a tent and wants to stay the night somewhere.

That would actually work well Ryan, for the people attending that have a long drive. Then it won't be like 8+ hours to drive in one day.

Exactly. For those who were at the last one, bring your own food, a few of us bring BBQ's, we'll cook it up.

I don't mind lending my back yard to tenters, drinkers, BBQ'ers, bon-firers, and hot tubbers. I can probably accommodate 10 cars, but you'll all be parking on the grass along the side of the road. lol. Also, I live across the road from the beach!

I vote for Sandbanks. Awesome beaches, and not too far for the Ottawa guys. Good luck reserving a site though, they would have been booked full months ago.
