Has anyone made there own using the steel tube and tie rods like these? http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=1454I know that parts are available from AFCO, but not sure if there are any canadian suppliers of similar stuff? Also looking for a parts list if anyone has one to build these.

I've since deleted the link :-(, but when I was looking at doing this I found a parts list for AFCO part #s on www.dsmtuners.com . In the end, I went the easy route, and bought these: http://www.maximalperformance.com/store/suspension/dsm-awd-adjustable-control-arms/prod_115.htmlEither way you do it, you'll be happy with the end result!
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

The other way is to buy another stock set used and cut them in half but one half a bit longer and weld them back together so that overall lenght is longer to fix camber on lowered car. Add a small brace to bridge the weld and box it up with some flat stock. Then use poly bushings. This is what I have on my 1G and I road raced it for years.

I got the ones from maximal performance, look like high quality pieces. I don't know if I would trust that crap from princess auto on my car.

Anything to do with suspension I want good stuff. I don't want a wheel coming off while in a corner. I've seen cheap tie rods break many times, etc.

Plus what good is a good tie rod if the cheap steel around it isn't going to hold it in place if you hit a pothole. I'd rather keep my wheel in the straight up and down position if I can help it.

True, and I consider that when im buying turbochargers and coil springs. but I garontee that the material used on heavy duty tractor equipment is stronger then the rusty stock uppers we have on the cars now. And we dont see them having stress and abuse issues, it's being sold at princess auto.. cheap quality stuff for the must part.. We bought a winch rated for 6000 lbs and a quad not even sunk burnt it all up.. then we snapped the 2000 pound tow strap when winching up the boat. I'll pay the extra 80$ for something that has someone stand behind more then "would you like store credit?"

I agree that a lot of the princess auto stuff is cheap chinese made stuff. I bought my 12 tonne press from there when it was on sale for around $100. Its one of the best investments I have made though. I have done many gearsets, front and rear wheel bearings, ball joints, bushings etc etc with it since. It was well worth the money IMO, and has more than paid for itself
