I am going to change my alternator this weekend. When I do it I am going to also remove the AC from the car. I need to change the belts for the power steering and the alternator etc. If I remove the AC, which belt do I need? Do I just get a non AC belt? I cant remember if the AC runs off the steering or the alt belt. Never the less, anyone know what belt I can use?

The AC runs off it's own belt.

Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

I completely agree with Malcolm. I left everything intact on my Eclipse so I could recharge it and even bought a full AC system just in case comethign needs replacing.

Well, I was thinking about removing it. My friend found his fittings for his equipment to test the system. I will see what it needs and replace it.

Mine is gone too!. I love sitting in the sweltering heat in traffic staring at the AC button......sometimes I push it hoping that through some magic cold air will come out, so far. No.

Bunch of pussies. I ran no a/c in every Talon I've owned for the last 8 years, lol. I never had an issue, besides, you get that nice one arm tan with the windows down, forehead tanned from the sunroof open. It's amazing. Even now, my Volkswagen has ice cold a/c, I still haven't used it once this year.

A/C may only give you 2hp, but it separates the men from the women.

No sir. Your car separates the women from the men. All you're missing is a skirt and panties wink

Yet my FWD DSM gets as good gas mileage as your VW (558 kms to be exact), has double the power and is very reliable. I don't need to be part of the AWD sheep crowd and have no regrets buying FWD.
