Driver side fender, little black box, has 2 plugs going to it. One of them is DRL, one is high beams. It's basically opposite the smic and attached to the frame

Why would you want to disable them?

HID kit could be one reason or a retro in my case.
I had to install a relay so my DRLs wouldn't turn my Bi-xenon solenoids on thus cause all kinds of odd electrical issues.

Does anybody happen to know how to do this on a 1G?

There's a little circuit board on some wiring in the passenger foot panel. Maybe someone can get more specific on the location but all you have to do is remove the circuit board from its holder and your DRLs are disabled.

Oohh, I would like that smile Thanks Rob! Is it the foot panel by the center console or by the door?

I did a little reading and it might be behind the glove box.
It's in some L shaped plastic holder that you open up. I think someone pulled it from mine at a meet (ages ago) while I wasn't looking and I never actually saw the holder, but I have the circuit! It's about the size of a postage stamp.

It's behind the passenger side kick panel. Might have to reach up a bit to find it. It's an "L" shaped plastic "box" with a hinged door on it.

Open door. Pull board.

Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

They are talking about a 1G Neal.
On the 2G it's located on the drive side in front of the wheel well behind the bumper. It's around the ABS pump, little square box.

HOWEVER, isn't your car a GSX? Thus meaning it's a US car? You shouldn't have DRLs then because US cars didn't have them in those years. You might have some sort of aftermarket solution for when the car was imported.

If you have factory DRLs I'm sure you could rewire them some how.

IF you don't then you need a DRL system of some sort. You could use a relay to trigger the fogs to come on with the ignition but then they'd be running at 100% which is a bit too bright imo.
I've got the plans for a DRL module for my car (to get rid of the OEM one) but I haven't bothered to etch the board yet.

I've heard of dsm's using a dodge sx2.0 drl relay harness to pass safety inspections. It may not have been the sx2.0 but something in the dodge family for sure.

Maybe someone knows what vehicle it was and I can find the relay to try rigging it up to my fogs smile

I'd offer you my OEM one but I'm not quite ready to ditch it yet.

Not to steal Neal's thread but by the DRL box there is another relay, what is it?

I'll grab a picture of the DRL relay later tonight since my chassis harness is sitting on my floor.
