Oh sheeeeeeeit! Welcome back buddy Miss you pumpkin Ha, welcome back. For those that are too new, Rob had one of the cleanest/best looking 1g's around. Even though I was a DSM owner I was never a fan of the 1g's till I saw pics of Rob's car. What ever happened to it? (let me guess some punk kid bought it & destroyed it, that seems to be what happens to all the nice ones ) But seriously a 2g DSM over an Evo X? Thanx, I agree, sweet ride, kid pooped on it, AFAIK, its been parted out. I didn't choose a DSM OVER an EVO, I can afford one, just not with debt, and bad credit. Less than two years away the bank says, Im behaving, paying my bills, seeing the light. I promised myself an EVO, it will happen, just not now. A 4g63 is the only cheap supplement to kill some time with This car has potential, A little love, and she will shine like my first DSM. WHAT CHU GOT Mang?

Holy. CRAP. Appparently, the rumours of your death were greatly exaggerated. Welcome back, but, you should have stayed away. You of ALL people know what a disease these cars are.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

What ever happened to it? (let me guess some punk kid bought it & destroyed it, that seems to be what happens to all the nice ones sweet ride, kid pooped on it, AFAIK, its been parted out. Yes, turns out that IS what happened to it. Not sure if Rob's aware of the whole story, but that's basically what happened. One of the eventual owners (not the guy that Rob originally sold it to) posted a part out/shell for sale on this board. This is going back a few years. I called the guy up enquiring about maybe purchasing the shell and wanted some details. He mentioned it was Rob's old car, that he bought it off the guy that bought it off Rob (or maybe even with another owner in between, don't remember). He mentioned the shell was in kinda rough shape: rusted fuel lines, rusted brake lines, rusted fuel sending unit, and maybe a few other things, don't remember everything. He may have even mentioned about some body damage and rust to the body. As I say, I don't remember all the details, but what does stick out in my memory was the difference in the before/after status. I remember thinking it was kinda sad to have that car meet such a sorrowful end. Not sure if the guy ever ended up selling the shell or not.

Im pretty sure this guy I know from way back has it. The tank was always bad, and the brake lines were the next on the list before I sold it, but the gas lines were all stainless braided with nice fittings, rusty fuel lines? Other than that, it was pretty good in terms of condition. No holes, maybe a bubble here and there on the paint, underneath typical of its age, not the worst I ever seen though. Its ok that its gone, I have pics and memories of when it was mine, good enough for me. I'll try to clean this 2g up best I can. All the power mods on it are not interesting to me, I will probably be making trades shortly for less HP bolt on's, after I square up with Deep, and figure out the engine situation

Hey Rob, nice to see you back. If I was getting back into the game, I'd probably look into getting another 1g. 2 geez suck and seem to be hitting the dust lately. Plus its only a matter of time before the front 2g suspension rips through the shock towers (or should I call it rust) thats supposed to hold it in. On the other hand its hard to find a nice 1g. If interested, I posted a for sale add for a 1991 tsi awd all black just like your old one. Its a magnus built car too, quite affordable IMO. Either way welcome back man !
