Testing the waters here, not desperate to sell. I have a '97 AWD automatic just taking up space in my driveway. I bought it a couple years back as a project, and just never found time. It has "rebuilt" status, front end was damaged at some point in time. Whoever repaired it, hacked up the wiring harness, so I replaced it with a new harness, but never got much further than that. Sunroof leaks, but have a replacement (used) for it. Speedo doesn't work, don't know ACTUAL mileage on the car.

Open to REASONABLE offers...or it can just keep sitting here, maybe I will find time one day...

hey Ziggy is was gonna pm you but you're full. I'm looking for work in the GTA. Know anyone who is searching for skilled labour?
if you do I'd might pick that car up from you or maybe rent one of your jeeps if you still got em. Or I could make it up to you some other way. I can service this car for you if you like in return. don't mean to hijack, but could really us the help.

Still have this DSM sitting in my driveway. We start it up once a month, but that is all the use it has seen since I bought it, LOL.

Will soon also be selling one of my Jeep Cherokees. It is a 2000 with 278,000Km. Has the unkillable 4.0 inline six, automatic. Body is a little rough, and currently there is a bit of grinding in the front end....might need brakes, or wheel bearings, or front U joints, or something similar. A perfect work vehicle, still used daily.

Open to (reasonable) offers on both vehicles...either as they sit, or can do the work and certify...

I STILL have this DSM sitting here. Just moved it, and realized the brakes are rusting. It hardly wanted to move, and then hardly wanted to stop. It is not getting any better by sitting in my driveway for a few years. I think it is probably no longer legititmately a "used car", but either a "parts car" or a "project car". The rust on it is not HORRIBLE, but it is certainly not "rust free" or "great condition". It COULD be driven to a new home, but would probably be safer to tow it.

It doesn't really have any aftermarket performance parts to speak of, so not worth too much in parts other than a decent motor - but 7 bolt, and a rebuilt alternator, and don't really want to take the time to part it and deal with the problem of getting rid of what's left. I think it DOES have a 3" catback and downpipe. I DO also have a lot of other parts I was planning to put into this, but won't be posting those for sale until the shell is gone. I WOULD consider pulling the motor and selling that alone for the right offer. If the engine sells, I would consider selling just the exhaust and tranny, but that would be about it. I don't want to start pulling off suspension parts and then not be able to get it to the wrecker's.

Make me an offer, want my driveway back.....

I love that term "rust free"..reminds me of a training seminar I was in many years ago.

Seller: "rust free"

Buyer: "it's full of rust, what are you talking about"

Seller: "yeah, the rust is free"...

LOOL and this is how I spend my lunch breaks! smile

GLWS Ziggy! hopefully she sells quickly!

I'll have to keep that in mind, LOL.....

Ok, it is now "rust free"....

I did have a guy ask if the back seat was for sale....I told him sure, quoted him a price, and told him the rest of the car came free with the back seat.....

In negotiations now, but not looking promising. I am looking for $1200. FIRM for a QUICK sale. If I don't get that in a few days, I will take offers on the engine, tranny, and full 3" stainless exhaust. I will also consider parting other items, as long as it doesn't prevent the shell from being towed.

Ok, I had a couple offers, but none that where quite at my bottom line, so it is looking like an upcoming partout.

Before I sell anything else off it, I would like to see the engine gone. Ideally, I would like to sell the complete running engine including manifolds, alternator, stock t25, etc. Perfect for someone who blew up his 2g and just wants to get it back on the road.

Make me a reasonable offer on the engine or engine and (auto) tranny, and the partout can begin....

Does the car have any parts that are unbiased to what generation car you have?

Not sure what you mean by that? I DO have some aftermarket and other parts I was planning to put on this, but nothing is going until at least the engine is sold....as I am still holding out a little hope someone might take the whole thing and save me the trouble of parting out.

The car is pretty much stock, so can't think of anything you'd want to put into your 1g. Like I said, I DO have some other items (gauges, turbo timer, EVOIII big 16g turbo come to mind) that I planned to put into it....so will sell those once it is decided that no-one wants it complete, and the engine has been sold.

Engine is now on Kijiji, and open to REASONABLE offers. I am not sure how to post a link here, plus I think it takes a couple hours to show up on Kijiji.

2g, 7 bolt. Compression is 175-180 in all four.

Thanks to Rob C. and Paul B. for doing the compression test and taking pics.

Once the engine is sold, a part out can begin.
