Tonight we got the girls to bed alittle early, So i went downstairs to the garage to get a start on installing my new VRSF FMIC (thanks to Ziggy) I figured i would get some prep work done without making too much noise.

Removed headlights, markers, front bumper, and rebar,aircan...ect

Was just measuring some sh!t up before i started to cut the rad support.....wife opens the garage door looks at me sideways and say"why the frack are you taking it apart again"

It's the same reason why we don't get why they buy tons of shoes. Different perspectives. At least they get to enjoy the fruits of our labor...you won't ever see me prancing around in their shoes lol

If you take it apart or have to buy another part they think something is broken again.

I just bought a MAFT and kept it a secret. I was telling chris yesterday, I can't tell her cause she is unhappy with the dinner table and chairs we have and want's them replaced. If I told here I spent 200 on something for my car she would have said why didn't we get some new tables and chairs for that price!

Woah!!! That is a major "faux pas". Only way to make it up to her is to replace that Dinner Table and Chair set before she finds out. Otherwize you'll be in the dog house for eternity.

Hahaha, I tell here everything. She doesn't live with me so anything big for the house is something I have to purchase. I promised her we would go out and get a set when I get my VPP(like a bonus but based on company and individual performance) and that will be at the end of the month.



If we were sharing finances than agreed, I would tell her everything but right now she is still living at home and only lives with me on the weekends.

How much is a dinner table set nowadays? It's more than $200, no? But I guess either way, she will find a way to turn it on you like "that money could've went towards a new dinner table set"

Actually Ghislain, that is a great idea, I have replaced stuff when she was away and has loved it. I think I may just start looking and do just that!

Its called rearranging priorities! I dont lie about the stuff I buy, I just dont tell her! Altho she thinks its better then spending all my money on booze and drugs.

Sometimes I hide it, Told her my profit sharing was mine to spend on the car, never told her how much i get. Or if I get a some cash in my pocket, she dosent know about, Ill throw it in the Garage fridge and save it for the car.

My wife is fairly supportive. She wants to learn about the things I know and she doesn't. She grew up in the city and I'm from a farm, so teaching her everything from there to here. She actually knows what I mean by 'head' and has swung wrenches for me...of course me being paranoid, I double check when she isn't looking

It's my mom that doesn't get it. Whenever I seem to talk to her, the car is in pieces and she asks me how it is. I'm the only one in the family that has taking an interest to modding cars.

Ultimately, the nicest thing she told me was she'll never make me sell my car.

And Bryan, I picked up some really nice stuff from Brick's scratch/dent section. You'd be amazed at how much they mark down stuff for having a scuff or scratch. Unless you are a perfectionist, I would never pay retail for furniture and instead spend the time waiting for something livable showing up in the scratch/dent section.

My wife knew what I meant by "head" also, but I STILL never got any.....:(

she got a new dining set in lue of my paint job. She also got 2 new bathrooms, a new kitchen all off the sweat of my back. I don't feel bad about not telling her i bought new FMIC.

My girl was pretty unimpressed when i told her i bought a bike. Even less so when i told her it was brand new.

My wife is also amazing! She actually understands what my 96tsi means to me and never question me to sell it even when the money situation is tight. In her mind she think that DSM has hidden diamond and man like me unlocked it and turn it into seriously  fast car able to compete with expensive exotic cars. And of course they don't make cars like that anymore. 

I wasn't talking about wearing them while vertical...

NEVER NEVER hide anything for your gf or wife when it comes to car stuff, it will never end good. Trust me when I say this as I speak from experience. The fact that I'm not single is a shock.

I knew a guy with a $40000 saturn show car, then he got a supportive girl friend, married her after a year. like 2 months later, out of the blue, standing infront of his car show trophys, told him he was spending too much time with the car and not with her...She was worried about their marriage and wanted him to sell the car.

That's how I see things.

aslong as all the monthly bills are paid and such, if I want to spend MY money on MY car I will do so.
I can also honestly say that if my gf has this conversation with me, the car will be staying.
I really cant understand why they think they can tell us to sell our prized possesions and low and behold, many guys do it .

obviously theres fincancial scenarios that could be a reason, but just to sell it because she thinks I spend too much money on it? take a hike.

Mine just dumped me after almost 4 years of living together and me supporting her 100% and then some.

Life goes on I guess.

Hoping to pour all of my attention into my family, and my car now.

I also hope to attend the shootout finally this year.

My car's in the process of getting back up at the moment.

She understood in the beginning that I've always dreamed of having a DSM, and of attending the shootout, and was supportive.

Then somewhere along the way she hated the thing.

It wasn't the car that broke us up obviously, but hell, it didn't help.
