Post up some pics of your dog, and maybe questions/concerns etc?

Here is Dexter, he's a 10 month old Jack Russel/Beagle mix. Lately he's had some loose stools, and its becoming a cause for concern. No other habits have changed, and his food has stayed the same, Purina One puppy formula. We're going to start changing him to adult food here right soon. Any ideas?

I love these threads. Puppies generally have sensitive stomachs Ryan. I dealt with the same issues. I put Casper on Taste of the Wild for the first year after trying a few cheaper brands. We could not get rid of the loose stools until we switched over to this brand. Its about $42 for a 15lb bag, but definately worth it during puppy stages. Its available at Pet Value. The bison formula gave Casper some nice thick stools, the salmon formula made his stools look dark and thick, but healthy. You don't have to gradually switch over either.

They have one formula for all ages, but I just checked out the website and they have a new puppy formula. Might be worth trying. 1/4 to 1/2 tablet of imodium worked on my dog too, but he's a larger breed so try at your own risk.

Nice dog Ryan

I posted a thread about this a few months ago and there were lots of interest/information but it's always good to have more. I'm personally still looking for the right breed and waiting until I secure some finances and priorities in my life before I bring a dog home. I want to be able to give it the attention they deserve.

Super cute breed...

Ryan, I have never really liked Jack Russels the beagle gives the hair that nice texture though which is why I have to say I like yours a lot. I am in the same situation as mike looking for the right breed still. I will chat with my parents and see if they can think of a similar situation, but nothing comes to mind for me right now.

Whoa Reza! I had no idea he was so damn big! Jealous.

Can't wait to buy a decent sized home and get a Spitz type dog.

I gave Giz Purina for a bit but all I feed him now is the Kirkland brand stuff from Costco. For the price it's a pretty good food and it's a damn big bag.

I need to take some new pictures of the little monster.

If you're not already doing it, take him to the dog park. I only started within the last 4 month but Giz loves it! Really came out of his shell and is pretty sociable around other dogs.

Reza, Damn he's big!!
I'd love a Malimute but the gf isn't a fan of any dog that's part wolf frown
I think our next one is gonna be a Bullmastiff.

The largest leash free area in the GTA is just 5 minutes from my house. Greenwood Conservation, approx 120 acres of leash free through trails and forests. Duffins creek passes through too. Excellent place to take your dog and enjoy some nature trails.

I prefer taking my dog here rather than parking lot sized dog parks where other dogs like to show their dominance and aggression on busy days. My dog is just a big friendly giant, totally harmless. He just wants to play, thats all.

Damn, that sounds like a nice place.

We took Gizmo and my neighbor's German Short Haired Pointer with us when we went to get Christmas trees last year. Giz loved being off leash in such a big area, it was pretty funny to watch him actually. All the parks here are fairly small sadly frown

Reza, I'm sure Casper is awesome. It's completely in how they are trained imo but try to tell the wifey that haha.

Anyhow, here's Giz having a nap in the sun.

I can't remember what i feed her a pup (i think it was small children) I do remember we tried all those natural food from Golbal pet store and they all gave her soft and runny poo. Then once the kids were born I had to switch to a cheaper brand Benefil she love it and you can easily fling her poo onto the train track without any fear of splatter. She is 12 now so i think the food has been pretty good.

Hey Reza, couldn't help but notice the Kelford box there. wink

Stephen, I grew up with rotties, absolutely love them, but a little big for the apartment, hence Dexter. wink We're buying a house this coming year, and it's gonna have some property, so Dexter's going to have a friend.

We had Tamara, she was purebred German Rottweiler, and the most loyal, smart, friendly dog you could ever lay eyes on. If my parents weren't home, she wouldn't let anyone in the house to protect the kids (4 sisters), but let them be home and it's a completely different story. Smartest dog I've ever known.

Yeah a Rottie is no place for an apartment or vise versa. Great dogs having one may even save your life on day.

thanks for fixing my shitty photobucket i was just trying to do that but it didn't work.
