Anyone have any tips or suggestions when blocking off the EGR and pollution vacuum lines. I have made the plate just not sure what to do with all these damn vacuum lines?!?

Follow Chris's post. For some of the lines you can use golf tees with a touch of silcone. That way they won't fall out but you can easily remove them if you want to put the vacuum lines back. $2.00 for a pack of 20 in the sporting goods section and they won't rust they're made of wood. And if you're a 'bling bling' guy they come in all colours . Cheers Tony

EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Usually it is used to warm the intake air quicker for colder weather. Blocking this off will eliminate another factor polluting the cold intake charge. Wouldn't pass emissions like that though. Thanks for the tips and links great help guys.

I'm going to add to this thread simply because I'd hate for it to become a piece of misinformation. To save my fingers I will copy & paste from someone elses explanation: EGR serves one purpose and one purpose only. That purpose is to reduce Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx). Under normal combustion, Nitrogen(N2) Oxygen (O2) in the air and Hydrocarbons (HC) in the fuel combind into water(H2O) Carbon dioxide (CO2) and the Nitrogen remains unchanged. Under very hot combustion temperatures, the Nitrogen reacts with the other two byproducts and forms Nitrogen oxide (NO). After being released into the atmosphere, it picks up another Oxygen and becomes Nitrogen dioxide (NO2). In the presence of sunlight, it combines with other compounds like Hydrocarbons and forms Smog. Since exhaust gas is inert (very stable) it doesn’t burn again. So by being introduced into the combustion chamber, it will lower combustion chamber temps enough so that the Nitrogen doesn’t react with the other compounds and is passed unchanged out the tailpipe thus not contributing to smog.
