Did a leakdown test today to find cyl 1 is 90% the other 3 were around 20% so now on the hunt for a complete running 6bolt, also a fidanza flywheel for a 6bolt awd and new act clutch

I am with Stephen with this one. If it's just a valve then a head swap is easy and a lot less work than putting in a brand new block. What's your idle vacuum like?

He had excessive crankcase pressure, and the fuel pump was on basically constantly so the oil was contaminated with fuel. Bearings are prolly done. Crankcase pressure could have been caused by the fuel in the bottom end but Im predicting a mixture of rings and excess fuel in the oil. Hopefully just sounds worse then it is.

if I could hear the motor running or at least do a leak down test on it and roll it over by hand..then id swap it..
Head job-Think of all the things you have to remove and replace.. gaskets.. studs.. belts.. and all the other stuff you prooly should replace anyway. Then all the bolts that need re torquing and specs that need checking. Surfaces that need cleaning and maybe resurfacing. All for a half rebiult motor??
There is alot more to replacing a head then the few bolts that need to be undone to remove and drop in another motor.
Besides Ive replaced heads and found the motor wasn't worth reusing. This way, put the running motor in the car, and rebuild the leaking motor the right way. Then you will have a whole fresh motor, not a half fresh motor.

pos...haha what a headache this thing has been.. anyways ive been talking to kyle pretty much all day and its getting worse and worse.. i can only discribe the sound of the engine.. it sounds like a subaru sti with exhaust lol has a pretty bad misfire now, so im just gonna drive it till it lets go.. doesn't even make that much boost anymore maybe 8-9psi.. so my plan is to get a running 6bolt motor swap it in so i can build one. brendan warwick has 2 6 bolts.. one is a jdm one and one sounds like its really nice thats in his talon now.. and offered to install it for a lil more $ so im gonna see what he says and hopefully i can get this done sooner then later, i don't want it sitting in my shop with a bad engine lol id rather be driving it as my truck is put away for the winter (those who have seen my truck know how clean it is and hasn't been winter driven)

LOL Terry, at least on a 1g it's called a transistor. My fuel return was leaking and I started running on two cylinders too!

Just disconnect everything for the bad cylinder and roll around with three cylinders

This was a wanted to buy ad. There should NOT be 4 pages of discussion for a wanted to buy ad. So I've moved it to an area where it can be discussed! Carry on. Also, adding an image, you may have seen it before. If familiar, can we please start using it?
