I'm looking at taking a week or two in some European city and have a few ideas of my own, thought I'd get some feedback from some of the globe trotters here.
Heres my criteria:
I don't ski or snowboard. I love live music. Not looking to go see a castle or some weird museum A good nightlife is a must, bars, restaurants etc. NOT GOING TO IBIZA The cheaper the LIVING expenses are the better. IE food, alcohol things of that nature. I'm cool with a more expensive hotel Hoping to avoid events like Oktoberfest, Not saying Germany in general
I'm kind of open to Asia but I'm hoping to do tokyo next year.
some ideas off the top of my head are Poland, Sweeden and Prague (although I've been once)
Let me know what you guys think

Germany is definately a cool place; beer and food are excellent.
I also spent some time in Spain and Portugal; food and wine is excellent and your money should go a long way.
Now one part of Europe that I would definately like to visit is Prague. We were soposed to stop there for an overnight a few years ago. Night life is suposed to be excellent. I'm not sure about $$$.
One more place that I really liked was Zagreb in Croatia.
All in all the planet has lots to offer and I think that it is greath that you are considering visiting an other part of this world. I'm sure you will enjoy.
At last if you'd have a little more time and $$$ I would say go to Australia. That place rocks and has lots of cool places to visit. These guys party hard; especially if you are in a rock bar and some AC/DC plays. They go nuts!!!
Have fun and post some indecent pics...

Why limit yourself to only a city or 2? I'm planning a trip over there in April with a bunch of buddies and we plan on renting a van ( http://www.wickedcampers.co.uk/) and touring many European countries. Just a thought. Have you ever seen the movie Hostel?

I thought about doing that but I think if I wanted to do the multi national tour thing I would do it jobless-student style and backpack. It would be a blast though. I'm also only travelling with one dude so the difference between my plan and yours is the costs are divided more in terms of travel. My buddy is also fluent in polish and russian so that would be a major game changer in either nation. He's my AFO asset as it were haha I think they have a huge festival every year in Iceland.. I have plans for iceland, I want to skydive into it already. Pretty boss-like

I'm planning on doing this with a group of 5 or 6, so the cost of the vehicle will be peanuts compared to stopping at hostels and hotels.

I like this topic because it displays a greath opendness to differents travel destination and style of travels.
Most plan but never make it happend. Traveling allows us to experience different cultures and can make better apreciate what we have.
I'm sure you will enjoy, just make you make it happend
