Nexen is like Hyundai. Nice and cheap to buy from new, but in no time, they're crap and you get what you pay for.

I'm just sayin. tongue

What sort of driving do you want to do Mike?

Are you thinking of a UHP, or A/S tire?

Was thinking UHP since I have winter tires, but was also thinking UHPs wear out quicker no?

Yep, but the threshold of most manufacturer's for UHP tread ware is 300 on average. Up to 340 in some cases.

300 COULD last you 50,000 kms. But likely you'll see 30-40k.

I'm going to quote Chris Farley here;

Tommy: Let's think about this for a sec, Ted. Why would somebody put a guarantee on a box? Hmmm, very interesting.

Ted Nelson, Customer: Go on, I'm listening.

Tommy: Here's the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.

Ted Nelson, Customer: Yeah, makes a man feel good.

Tommy: 'Course it does. Why shouldn't it? Ya figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come by and leave a quarter, am I right, Ted?
[chuckles until he sees that Ted is not laughing]

Ted Nelson, Customer: [impatiently] What's your point?

Tommy: The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times.

Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?

Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of sh!t. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

My point - Hyundai sells a warranty. Their residuals STILL suck and depreciate faster than Fords do.

I ran the nexen N3000 on my old civic at dunnville, in both rain and shine, i had no problems with them at all. I wasn't expecting them to perform all that well but to my suprise i had no issues passing subaru's, s13's and bmw's.

That was quite awhile ago so perhaps they have gone down hill since?

What I'm going to say is that with the top tier performance tires, you will not be able to push these tires to their limits "LEGALLY" on the street.

Lets be honest here, with a 20+lbs boosted DSM, will you be able to push this accelerator to the floor "LEGALLY" on the street? But we all still want that power and are more than willing to put in the money for it.

I love the fact that I can make left turns at lights in excess of 70kmh without squeeling on well paved roads, or attacking an on-ramp at 120kmh in the dry.

When it comes to handling, tires are the number 1 factor.

When it comes to everything to do with a car the tires are the part that connects you to the road. Your brakes could be the best in the world but if your tires are sh!t then they will lock up on you faster.
Hyundai will be getting my business once I'm done driving my car as a daily driver and want something fun and less toyish I'm buying a turbo Veloster cause I think their sexy as hell and I will wait a year to see how they are reliability wise.

Let me guess, Honda/Acura is the far superior product? bird

Since this is not the topic of this thread, guess we'll just have to agree to disagree wink

Hells no!

I'm a fan of anything Japanese smile

Hondas are boring as eff to drive other than the s2k.

Acura's tl sh-awd 6 speed is the only car somewhat worth bragging about but it's got the same heavy flywheel syndrome that the accord v6 manual has.

Have yet to try an NSX so no comment there lol

I concur... I personally think the SH-awd is great for your grandpa to drive.

Has anybody used or know anything about Marangoni Tires?

Has anybody dealt with Tiretrends.com?

My buddy ran maragoni on his scooby doo a few years ago I remember him stating that he was very happy with their life and traction levels for a non popular branded tyre
