We are considering some changes here, and would like some feedback

We would appreciate if you would take this short survey.

Done.

How will we do those failed orders if this goes through?

I think the majority of people who make purchases online likely have a paypal account, so I don't think removing direct CC payment is an issue for most.

Actually for me, I now try to use PP for as many online transactions as I can. CC info gets stolen so often that I try to take every measure I can to prevent it & I think using PP vs direct CC payment is better.

Have you thought about getting setup so we could pay for things in online banking? Not through EMT but through the same way you pay bills etc. I do this with Canada computers all the time. Place the order then just go to my online banking and pay. They confirm payment then ship the order, works beautifully every time.

Maybe I could just have work send all my paychecks to Ziggy and cut out the middleman.

Upon payment with Paypal you can choose to pay direct with your bank account or with your credit card you have tied to it.

The way I suggested is direct from your online banking, which you can choose your account but I am not sure if you can select your CC as an account to pay from. Never tried.

Less headache then screwing with paypal in my opinion, if you ever have a problem paypal is impossible to deal with.

Actually, I've found that paypal is super helpful. The only thing you need to worry about if there are issues is have all the proof needed: pics/videos/paperwork etc. They've always dealt with issues easily in my experience. Specially since here you won't have to deal with conversion from US/Canada currency.

Only problem I've had with PayPal was when I was near my limit, but PayPal kept trying to process the transaction, leading me to getting over $500 in insufficient fund fees, which my bank would not refund.

The whole point is that the credit card acceptance companies are parasites. OF course, so is Paypal, but Paypal is a NICE parasite. They take a little more, but they give some value for their service. They provide a certain level of protection, and if I send a refund, they refund their portion of the fees also. The credit card companies put a LIMIT on what I am allowed to VOID....(does that make ANY sense to ANYONE?). There is no limit to what I can REFUND the next day, but then they don't return their blood money (the percentage they keep) like paypal does. They also make it so that I have to wait a half hour to see if my void was approved, then when I find out next day it wasn't, they have their fees secured! Supposedly this limit is for MY protection? In other words, I can protect myself FROM myself for one day only, then I can cheat myself all I want, give away all my money, because they already have their percentage?

I plan to take them to small claims court, but don't think that is a good idea while I am still doing business with them and they have access to my bank account...

Stephan, your post above just sort of confirmed what I was saying. Paypal is reasonable, it is the BANKS and the credit card acceptance companies, which are in bed with the banks, that screw us repeatedly. They keep saying I agreed to the terms, but that is because if you DON'T agree to the terms, you can't accept credit cards. Their terms are not negotiable, only the percentage they will screw you out of is...

I suggest anyone wanting to pay by credit card should tie their credit card to their paypal account, then they can STILL pay that way, and not worry about NSF charges, and I can give the percentage to the NICE parasites instead of the disgusting ones.

Even if you wanted me to mail a cheque to you, you'd still have my business. It's understandable. Whereas PayPal even printed an apology letter for my bank with the reasons that the charges were there, the manager at the bank told me that it's my fault and that they aren't refunding anything. Bank's are scum if they can take that much money from a student, or anyone due to an error.

Funny thing is, the credit card company allowed PayPal to keep trying to charge me, wouldn't let me go over the ~$5 that I was short on a $100 purchase, yet had no problem continually placing the NSF fees on my account.

TD Visa. They have been pretty ruthless at times. I haven't left them, because two of the tellers are very nice people who've helped me out and I'm too lazy to change my direct deposit. I just cut up my card though and do everything straight through my debit card now to be safe.

I am seriously considering closing my bank account also...or at least the business account. I might open one small personal account for accepting EMT's, but I am TIRED of feeding the parasites. If EVERYONE stopped using banks and credit cards, they would soon learn the value of customer service. I can't get EVERYONE to do it, but I CAN be first, and promote the idea.

That could work. Wasn't it in the USSR where people couldn't trust banks and stored their money at home because it was safer that way? Either way, I hope you get things sorted out soon and in a way that betters business soon. You guys are always a pleasure to deal with.

^ Completely agree. They do it because they can and people don't seem to care enough to complain. Same thing goes for the hike in house prices. Services will always suffer when people don't complain and money is involved.

Ziggy you should open a pawnshop for dsm parts. Give old parts, get credit for other parts. tongue Become your own bank.

Yeah agreed, I could see why you would only offer such a thing to proven customers, reduces the risk and everyone is happy.

I think you'll get a very skewed perspective asking on here. Most here already buy from you and already trust you. If you only took payment in bails of hay we'd probably go along with it.

If I was shopping at a new site and they only offered PayPal then I would be much less likely to trust them. It seems a little fly-by-nightish to me.

For what it's worth, PayPal does also act as a credit card gateway and RTM should be able to accept credit cards directly with PayPal, i.e. people paying with a VISA could do so without their own PayPal account and RTM wouldn't need to deal with one of the mega evil parasite CC gateways smile

I'm not sure if that's already the RTM setup and if Ziggy's actually trying to get rid of PayPal's CC gateway. IF RTM is using a separate gateway for CC then maybe it's worth a look into PayPal's gateway options, providing the shopping cart supports it.

I am a huge Google fan so obviously my first choice would be this http://www.google.ca/wallet/business/online/index.html

I would not be too bothered paying by Paypal but if you think Paypal is any less shady than the banks or credit card companies then you have not researched.

I just looked at that, but it says that payments through google wallet are processed through your regular processor. It sounds like they are just adding one more middle man, like paypal.

I am NOT saying Paypal are not parasites, I am just saying they are FAR less unreasonable than the credit card gateways, and they at least add SOME slight value for their charge. Like I said, if I issue a refund through Paypal, they refund the corresponding portion of the fees. MUCH more reasonable than the cc gateways, who will NEVER refund a single penny in fees under ANY circumstances, even when the entire situation is OBVIOUSLY their fault. THey simply refuse to be reasonable and negotiate.

I realize this site is a little biased, but a LOT of my customers are here, so their input is valuable also. I have also posted this same survey on the front page of the webstore, and am anxious to see the feedback from there also..

Jeff, in a way yes it would seem a little more of a real business, but from lot of threads I've seen, even with people in the states on tuners, they all mention RTM as a reccomended shop.

I have seen on a few forums RTM products linked to. Mostly the suspension and brake products.

There was even a mention of RTM on the GTA motorcycle forums.

^ ? Paypal doesn't charge the buyer, the fees are charged to the seller. Although I don't necessarily agree with the percentage they take, it's not all that bad considering what they offer in services.

Been using Paypal over 5 years, and when ever I see a site that has a Paypal payment option, I am pleased to see it and that site will have a higher chance me ordering something.
