I was flipping through some pictures from last year on my computer. The cruise didn't turn out too well on the camera because the battery died half way through it.

Is it too early to start thinking about this??

No I don't think so, I would prefer if we did this when it was a little cooler out anyways.
The cars were struggling a little last year.

Perhaps a Summer and Fall Invasion? Or perhaps only can be the 'official Invasion' and the other can be a Club DSM Canada Summer/Fall Cruise?

See the second cruise we went on last year was not to the track we just stopped in Ancaster and then took the ring back, in that case I don't think it matter as much what the weather is. Although cooler is always nice.

I am going to put a rule for this one, we won't be waiting for people this year, within reason. If it is me that is making the schedule again this year, every time that I post is the time we are leaving a location so be sure to be there before then. Deep was running really late last year because of reasons not under his control and that sh!t on our whole schedule for the day. I am not a morning person but got up early for the cruise so that we could be home at a reasonable time, but that didn't happen.
Also if you decide to invite people on bikes, tell them they better quit smoking for the day cause it was extremely annoying for us to wait for them at every stop last year. [/rant]

Completely agree that other than a few minutes grace period, the itinerary should be followed - especially if people are expecting to meet the group along the way.

Alright well let's start throwing out dates and then Ryan can create a survey, if we are doing June I say any of the weekends after fathers day.

I say we do either the exact same as last year or have it at a different track/route to change it up.

the two last year were sweet... I used my buddys gopro and filmed most of the second cruse, unfortunately I don't know what to do with the huge video files I have.

I think we first need to decide whether we're doing a track day, or just a cruise and hitting up a denny's or something.

I'm good with a June date or a September date.

Last year lacked that "invasion" concept we were going for.

My biggest recommendation for the cruise is for everyone/most to try and bring a walkie-talkie.

Well we stopped at a montanas in ancaster, denny's would be good too, I can't recall what else there is there, but we can google that later.

Do we want to do the hamilton ring again, I really love it for the roads and for the view.

LOL, I told you I would upload but I am still missing a file, I think the second or the third piece.

I would love to do a ring up East heading towards and through the Quinte area (Frankford, Foxborough, etc.) and some of the nice roads I spent a number of summers driving up there and then head further out towards Tweed or even possibly Bancroft. I know of a TON of great roads and could make a killer route, especially with the help of some of the local guys who probably know of even more hidden gems. Could end it with a Test & Tune @ SVille or perhaps a nice small restaurant in the county (Picton/PEC)...or Sandbanks? And then a drive-in movie in Picton that night. All ideas....

I like that idea! It would be nice to see some new roads. May I request if we decide to do Bancroft that we do it on an MLRC event day.
I don't mind doing the agenda again, I just need someone who knows the road like I had last year (Tim gave me the details on the ring and some other roads around the area).

Post the dates that there are events and we can see if it'll work.

I think Saturdays are the best bet...Sunday is usually family time/errand time for most people.

JUNE 23RD is the next one, after that not until September.
I would be tempted to run but would need to find a really nice person to borrow rims and tires from while I am there.

Im still job hunting, which is nice because it leaves much more time than school to tear a car apart. Im in the middle of the toyota plant application process for 20 bucks an hr! Cant find anything school related booo.
My point is if I am making some big dough in a month or so, maybe I can find another 2g eclipse to daily! they are getting cheap smile

I like the economy of my 97 acura EL right now too though. Could make it a little go cart, VTec is meh tho, NO BALLS lol

So yea, life is in limbo but cruise to the track is always the best, eff drag racing (Yes I said it). Bring some real balls to the road course.

Hey Guys, so it seems this thread kind of died so I guess our next track day will be when it starts to cool down again.
How much time does everyone need in advance to make sure they can attend?

I would assume sunday would be the day we go as that's what we did last time.
I figure we can do an invasion in the next little while and then we can do another when it cools down and hit cayuga.

Well, if you guys still want me to plan a full-out route, I can, but it would probably be for an Invasion closer to Fall, as I know I won't be free till after the Shootout/August for anything of the sort.

September is good for our invasion to the track as it should be cooler by then.
Is that what everyone wants to do? I think we should meet at a restaurant though, as I would love to eat before we head off to the track.

Salomon, I will dig up the route from last year and you can take a look and see if you want to make any changes.

We were going to go out East this time...and probably not hit the track as it likely wouldn't coincide with anything at Shannonville.

East to Picton/Trenton area!? I love Prince Edward County.

Okay someone break it down for me. Been there many times, but I just called it by 3 different names.

Picton is in Prince Edward County. PEC is a larger area than just one town. To make it simple, Picton to PEC is like Richmond Hill to York Region, etc.

Trenton is it's own town/city and is not part of PEC. Trenton is directly west of Belleville. PEC is separated from the 'mainland' by the Bay of Quinte.

And yes, it would end up in that area, but pass through many other areas up North. It will be a long route, but a very, very enjoyable one.

I think I may pull a "Kellar" and ditch the S/O for this invasion.

If the invasion is in the Quinte Area, DSM'ers are welcome to camp out on my property. I have a large driveway, plenty of tools, and a garage for use. The sooner we figure out a date for this, the sooner I can book work off, if necessary. The first 2 weekends of Sept work great for me, the second 2, not so much.

Well, it wouldn't start in the PEC/Quinte area, but it would end there, at least that's how I visualize it going down, and then people could cruise back/camp/etc. as they please.

Saturday the 7th would possibly work for me. Otherwise it wouldn't be for a while after, at least not on a Saturday.
