Sorry folks you will be waiting a while longer.
I just spoke with a Toyota employee, who was driving a BRZ, and he has informed me that they won't be officially releasing a turbo one until 2015 or later.
Toyota and Subaru have a three year agreement stating that the car will remain how it is.

Yup. From what I understand, all, or at least almost all Subaru parts are interchangeable.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to install a wrx/sti motor in a brz or frs, being horizontally opposed engines is the only thing a wrx/sti and the brz/frs share...remember...the frs/brz was purpose built and designed from the ground up, I'm not even sure why Toyota wanted to do a joint venture on this car because Toyota made horizontally opposed engines too, they just wern't popular cost effective or reliable...much like the wrx/sti motors are today.

Here is a successful swap of the Sti drive train into a frs but it was done by greddy and it required a ton of custom work.
STI into FRS

There is an HKS supercharger kit and a Greddy turbo kit for the brz/frs already BUT the HP numbers arn't anywhere near what you would expect after dropping a ton of cash.

Because it's for the stock block. Bet you can't push much more than 7psi on a very small-frame turbo without it blowing. These blocks weren't built for boost.

Totally right on the money , the Greddy kit is an 18g turbos set at 5-8psi, also 12:1 compression is not the most boosted friendly ratio you can have. space is a real issues with the turbo setup so apparently the supercharger kit is the best direction for the n/a frs.

When the turbo model finally arrives don't expect anything over 240hp and detonation prone pistons (like new subie motors pistons), even when this engine claims to have 200hp all these cars are making on the dyno is an um-impressive number of 140-160 WHP. remember Toyota is designing this car to be a budget/after market friendly tuner for the under 35 year old group who have limited cash flow.

Didn't realize CR was that high. Definitely not boost-friendly by any means.

That's closing in on double the 7.8 CR of a stock 6-bolt. shocked

the high compression ratio is the only way to squeeze 200hp from a boxer n/a 2L. this is why the frs must run Toyota's direct injection or else it would be bye bye pistons. stuff it with low compression pistons add a small turbo and all you will be lucky to get is around 240hp crank.

Crawford Performance did a full build on one and it's making 500+ hp.

As for the stock ones only dynoing at 140-160, that's pretty sad to hear that! Especially after watching videos of audis that are making more hp than what they indicate.

I'm surprised people keep expecting to drop the WRX/STI into this. Those run the 2.5L, not the 2.0L that the BRZ runs.

What's caught everyone's eyes, is that the Forester 2.0XT is running the same 2.0L, turbo'd with a twinscroll, and running 250/258 hp/torque. You should be able to steal that entire setup without much after-market. That light a car with an extra 50hp would be nice.

Once you ditch the Prius tires it comes stock with.

The moment a turbo spools, all your dreams are made possible.
