This is the first place I am posting this till I am ready to sell it, so if you know people get the word out.

I was wondering if everyone could help me out on a fair price for a 98 tsi.

168500km.

The Bad:

Paint coming off the top of both the window trims, both front strut towers have toonie sized holes in them. Passenger rear wheel well has a hole on the inside about the size of your fist where the rubber cap used to be, towards the passenger seat.

THE GOOD:

Now all the bad stuffs done, The car is alot of fun to drive around. It has been pretty reliable. I only drove it about 4k a year and owned the car for about 5 years. The Car drive great for the majority of the time.

Since I have owned the car I have tried my best to keep up on all the maintenance and to make sure the car was going to last. When I put in a part it was never a cheap part, I wanted to keep the car for ever. But times change and I need a bigger vehicle since my family is growing. rotate

I am in no way in a hurry to get rid of the car since my car is a backup anyways at the moment. So Im going to find the best buyer for my car, someone who really wants a great car. and a Rarity at that.

Installed:
- clifford matrix sst50 (alarm and remote start)
- ssw s032 Black w/machined lip/face, 17" rims
- Alternator has been rewound for an output of 130 AMPs
- fluid AMPr crack pulley
- Large FMIC
- 2 1/2" SS pipe through out
- cip 2gS, intake
- Transmission rebuilt in '08 (15,000km ago)
- Act 2600 clutch
- fidanza light weight fly wheel
- HID 6000k head lights
- suspension: Yonaka coil overs

Stereo:
- Head Unit, Kenwood x891
- Kenwood Keg(10gb hard drive)
- Front speakers, Kenwood Excelon 6 1/2"
- Both doors have had Dynamat installed in them
- Rear speakers, Alpine SPR 6x9 Coax 2 way
- Trunk - 2 * JL8W7
- Amp Memphis 1100d
- 1 microfarad Capacitor
- have it all nicely installed under some carpet and plexi-glass. For added affect Blue LED's light up when trunk opens, and 3 * 4" 12 vdc fans move air under the false trunk floor when stereo is turned on.

Free Stuff that goes with the car:
- aggressive looking front bumper(never tried it, I liked the stock one)
- winter tires and rims
- driver side door handle, been painted to match the car(have it cause I bought both sides when I replaced the broken one on the passenger side and never got around to replace the perfectly good one).
- i think i got some wrenches for coil overs(but they sucked anyways)

I was thinking about selling with the etest and safety done. Currently out at the shop getting prepped for selling.

Let me know how much you think its worth to the right buyer.

$2500 - $4000 depending if its an educated/DIY DSM'er or a prospective Kijiji buyer, remember...rust holes on shock towers and inside wheel wells make many prople nervous, and if they are already the size of 'toonies' then the spread of the rust has gone much further than what is visible by the naked eye. Its truly a perfect candidate for a part out.

Really? A couple of small rust spots and "Damn, that car's no good, send 'er to the scrap pile!

frack, a couple of hours with a welder with some new metal and she'll be good as new. Stop condemning these damned cars because of a spot of rust.

The car is in great shape. There is no visible rust on any of the paint, everything is functioning correctly. In general the car is fantastic.

Its either good for a part out and make some money...or restoration for someone who has some money. Eitherway.. Its maybe worth 2000 as is. But Idont think it would pass a safety with that much cancer.

Easy for you to say...about 3/4 of this board couldn't touch a project like this when it comes to welding PROPERLY and we are not talking about surface rust here, you ever seen the underside of a rust hole? you will easily need to replace 3x the size of the hole with fresh metal.

I'm sure the car isn't a piece of junk..its prob very nice (can't tell cuz theres no pictures) but it would have to be sold to someone with the proper skill set to repair it and that greatly reduces your pool of prospective buyers.

and on a side note they rust their because the jack-ass who removed the struts scratched the lower surface of the upper shock mount. I had a small little bubble on both side 1/4 of inch of bubble i pushed on it with a screw driver and poof right through so i kept pushing all around it and before you new it lake Erie. Two days later i wash wishing i had a new car! 4 days later she's as good as new.

Remember to be careful when doing strut changes! it will cost you later.
