Hey guys, So...leaking input shaft seal. Ordered a new OEM one and this will be my second attempt to fix this leak. According to my research, it's also wise to replace the differential CRUSH SLEEVE as it's "a one time use part" and is what puts the preload on the bearings. Also determined that the vent, if blocked, will force oil to protrude from a seal/s. Good news is Ziggy carries both seals, and vents, and they're not expensive. But using CAPS, I've been able to determine the Mitsubishi part number is; Crush sleeve - MA180841 Input shaft seal - MB393929 Vent - MB393530 And it doesn't look like it's something I can find locally...I may have to try harder. Can someone with some rear diff experience chime in whether or not the crush sleeve is in fact something I need to change? It's daunting doing this a second, or third time so any help is really appreciated! Thanks guys! 34377 In that picture above is the crush sleeve.

I think it should be 34013. I will go and get my reading glasses and will get back to you...

Just had a look at ASA.
It appears that 34106, pn MB393929 should be it. Now it says that it is a Seal.
It has been at least 5 or 6 years since I done mine...

There is no listing for a crush sleeve. 34377 would be the closest thing to it. It is the Pinion Bearing Spacer. There are 2 sizes, 57.08 (MB044434) and 57.72 (MA180841). I doubt you have to change it if you are just changing the seal. As long as you haven't messed with the bearings and have tightened the nut properly you likely haven't changed the pre-load.
(8) Measure the drive pinion turning torque (with oil seal) by using the special tools to verify that the drive pinion turning torque complies with the standard value. Standard value: Bearing classification Bearing lubrication Rotation torque (starting friction torque) Nm (in.lbs.) New Bearings (with rust-prevention oil) 1.0 -- 1.3 (9--11) New/reused Bearings Gear oil application 0.5 -- 0.6 (4--5)
If there is a deviation from the standard value, check whether or not there is incorrect tightening torque of the companion flange tightening self-lock nut, or incorrect fitting of the oil seal.
