Hey Well it looks like I am gonna need a new clutch next season I currently have an ACT2100 that was installed last summer and its slipping NOW now I did race the car allot but I thought I would get another year out of it but I guess not. I personally think it was not installed right but I cant really prove it. So This what I want to know - can I keep my current pressure plate and just get a new disk ? any down side to doing this ? - is there any other clutch that is as good and a bit more durable? - any new cutting edge cluctched are out for our lovely low maintenance cars

Yeah, take it off and have a look at it. You might of fried the Disc material.
Having said that maybe a 2100 is not enough for you, especially if you do a lot of 1/4 mile pass (lots of hard launch).
I for myself have a 2100 with a Mitsu Disc and satisfied with it but I only attend to a few events each year.
You could maybe try a more agressive Disc like a 6 "cough" Pucks.

I heard that the 6 puck setup is really bad and not very street friendly, harsh engagement and allot of clutch chatter

I have a 2100 with a 6 puck. It is a harsh and chattery engagement. You get used to it after a little while though. Before the 6 puck, I had the act street disk and it only lasted a year. Defineately put a mitsu release bearing in while you have it apart.
Hey now!

If you don't need the pressure plate, the street disk by itself is quite a bit less money than the kit. I can get you the street disk for $179.95 plus shipping plus taxes (or the 6 puck disk for $149.95 plus shipping plus taxes), compared to $470. for a 2100 kit or $560. for a 2600 kit!!

I have a Centre Force Dual Friction as well. Got it installed in my '91 AWD about 30 000 k's ago (3 years). It's been great. I previously had a 2100 and the hold in the CF DF is equally good; it's never slipped an inch. And I can now start in 2nd gear in snow, and the pedal effort is softer but still sufficiently stiff. I'd say go for it, but I've heard the same stuff as you about slipping almost immediately. Maybe those people did go too hard too soon.
