Seeing as I decided to keep the SMIM that came with the newly purchased 6-bolt motor, I no longer had a place for my coil pack... I thought about it for a few days and decided to stick it somewhere between the SMIM and wheel well. The cardboard mock-up is pictured below.

Transferred it over to some sheet metal today, lots of cutting, drilling and grinding. Some paint...and this is the finished product.

Another angle...

It looks rather tight, but I'd say 0.5 cm clearance from the Brake Fluid Reservoir.

Nice work tu

personally I would of attached the coil pack somewhere on the engine as aposed to the body, I would be paranoid that the shaking of the engine would eventtually lose the wire connection. In reality It's probably not gonna happen. Clean work.

Thanks Terry, It seems to be plenty of slack on the cables, I'm not too worried about that.
However, looking at it now, I feel I made the pack sit too close to the intake manifold. I could still take it back a centimetre comfortably, had I not already built this bracket. =( lol

I've got to figure out a way to pull it a little closer to the wheel well.

Nick and I made out own coil pack mounts, bolted to the back of the block under the SMIM. Similar to the JMFab ones except ours cost $5.

I'd imagine it looks similar to this.

JMFab DSM coil relocation bracket

I made mine to sit under the IM, I would also use a little more substantial metal, thin stuff like that likes to crack over time with vibration, which would not be very comforting with the proximity to the brake lines.

Agreed, that does look like a way better solution than mine. I'll use mine as a temporary fix until I can fabricate something similar to yours Jason. Looks clean and simple.
