So I've personally imported 4 US vehicles over the years with the last one being in 2013. However, a co-worker just told me about this new requirement for personal export …..
http://www.riv.ca/USCustoms.aspx

A decent article spelling out the details can be read here:
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/shopping-for-a-us-vehicle-beware-258064351.html
It makes buying a private sale almost impossible as a most US private sellers will not “take the time to apply to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, and some private sellers don't want to do that” ….
I think it makes it more difficult to import your own car as I’m not sure a private individual will have access to the AES system?

More info on the AES system

Thoughts?
