Wondering how much of a pain in the butt they are to change.

My front passenger side fender I was rolling and noticed that the wheel is in fact not tight like it should and when I peaked behind hub, the bearing was giving way.

Who has done one and what can you share that will make it easier for me. I guess what Im asking is buy the entire arm or is there a way of removing and simply changing the bearing alone?

Or something else?

Thank you

The front wheel bearings on the AWD 2G DSMs is a hub/bearing unit. Remove the brakes, and it's just 3 bolts on the back (maybe 4, I forget). The bearing cannot be changed on its own; you must replace the entire unit.

I don't know what arm you're referring to. Wheel bearings don't have arms.

Actually Jeremy, you CAN get the bearing on it's own and press it out, but it's just far easier to change the whole unit.

If your axle isn't seized, it's a very easy change, 4 bolts, few hits with a mallet and the old one will be out and you can bolt the new one in.

The whole unit looks like so:

Thank you Jason. Didn't know if it were possible or not.
I sent Ziggy email so I guess he will respond shortly or at least by Monday.
