Need help figuring out what those rusty things are:




I deleted my 20 year old not working ABS module and ^ was sitting right next to it. I tried looking up CAPS but did not find answer i was looking for.

here is the ABS module that was removed. When i first purchased my DSM it had ABS light on. The driver side had cracked splash shield so it allowed all the water/salt to enter into ABS module and sensors around it. This thing looks bad.

I think one of them is the drl module.

Any markings on either?

Look like you are correct, the lower box circled in red should be the DRL module. Somehow it still works lol. I'll try to clean it up.



probably some marking should be on the upper one because its plastic made. I can check when i get home after work

High beam relay. Its that annoying box that you need to replace when your blue high beam light is on the dash but your high beams dont work. Dumb place for it.

Since it looks like you're doing it, how hard is it to do the ABS delete? Always thought of doing it seeing as mine won't see bad weather...ever (especially since it's in the garage all the time :p)

With engine out of the way it's easy to do. The only reason i did it is because i upgraded front brakes to Brembo and larger 3G master and booster plus my ABS never worked anyway for reasons described above.

So I could not close my splash shield and leave ^ behind. So i gave it some treatment with wheel brush and por15 so i could sleep better lol







I used tiny sheets of fiberglass to reinforce rusted areas on DRL housing. Hopefully this buy me some time until i find proper replacement.
