I trying to decide between the Hero Session or the Hero 3 black. Cant really afford anything above those models.

Dont have much experience with gopros.. But I would like slo motion and night filming for at the track. and basicly some good quality you tube videos

My go pro hero 3 black edition has terrible low light quality, and the super slow motion stuff can only be recorded at very low quality. You also really need an external mic.

black looks like the way to go.
I don't think i would say 720p is low quality.

Jay for the slow mo stuff you want super high frame rates, black will do 720p at 120 frames so you should be able to slow down enough without it being choppy.

It's showing $299 for me.

For what it's worth, most Gopros suck in low light condition.

There's a lot of knockoffs that you can get on Amazon with similar quality for half the price.

The one I have is a knock off and while not quite as good as the real deal, for the price I'm very happy with it. It does 1080p and 720p 60fps

This one had decent reviews and some sample videos

You'd also cry less if your car ran over the knockoff.

That was my thinking.

I use hard drive magnets on mine, so far they haven't come off at 125mph, I don't trust suction cups.

Super slow mo, like 240fps, is only 480p, but even if you look it up, the low light video quality is super grainy. IMO not worth the bones unless you're buying a couple of them(for different angles, using the wifi remote to syncronize them all) for daytime use.

I've trusted the suction cup many times and it hasn't failed me yet, but thats only because I've been too forgetful to bring my trustee string with me.

This one is a real popular choice too, non of them are going to get the fps you want (120 min).

Haha yeah I have my trusty string in the trunk, works great.

I've had mine stay on without issue either but I've also had it just fall off glass while the car was parked. I think the sun beating down on it can change the pressure difference and can cause issues. I'm always very meticulous about keeping it clean so that was not likely the issue.

I've just been lucky, lol.

The heat does affect the suction cup. One time the camera fell off just a bit after I pulled into the pits!
