I have the original aluminum alloy wheels on my 1990. After the most recent new tires I find that I lose about 1-2 psi per day with the air leaking around the tire bead. The tire guy blames it on the old rims which he says are dirty and corroded at the bead area. Is that possible and has anybody experienced this with old rims? What is the solution? I want to keep the car as original as possible so that I want to keep these wheels. Thanks for any advice.

I honestly do not see any "corrosion" but there is dried out old bead sealer patches on the rim all over the bead area. Scott, how do you go about checking for a cracked wheel?
